The assumption behind this statement is wrong. It assumes that 0bama would be less likely to make a mistake off prompter than he would reading what someone else wrote.
The first statement is factually correct. The WH acknowledged the gaffe, saying the remarks were unprepared and no teleprompter was used. They also failed to apologize for the mistake. What this points to is that Obama felt it unnecessary to prepare his talk to the troops. Evidently, they aren't worth the effort. Also, it shows that he'll err mightily on his own, and his human prompters and preparers will err mightily on their own (in addition to his gaffes).
So, regardless how one looks at it, this administration is the most incompetent ever, and it begins at the head.

If the Obama/Biden team were Republicans, there would be vast, deep, comprehensive body of written and videotaped bloopers and gaffes from these two. Biden alone has said more numerous and more incomprehensible things than GW, Dan Quayle and Gerald Ford put together. Obama is not very far behind except that his handlers don’t let him stray from the teleprompter very often - so he just lacks the opportunity. Both of these idiots have made a huge number of gaffes that would be spread far and wide if they were Republicans.
I hate Clinton’s guts but he had a far better natural gift for gab than Obama. Obama could not talk his way out of a paper bag off the cuff.

I agree with you. Most days it seems that Obomba is either high or has fever. Also seems to be getting skinnier.
It makes it all the more clear that the enemy is inside the gate!
