The liberal bias of the mainstream media tilts so far left that any outlets not in that political lane, like the Drudge Report and Fox News Channel, look far more conservative than they really are, according to a UCLA professor's new book out next month.
In a crushing body blow to the pushers of the so-called "Fox Effect," which claims the conservative media is dragging the left into the center, UCLA political science professor Tim Groseclose in Left Turn claims that "all" mainstream news outlets have a liberal bias in their reporting that makes even moderate organizations appear out of the mainstream and decidedly right-wing to news consumers who are influenced by the slant. "Fox News is clearly more conservative than ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and National Public Radio. Some will conclude that 'therefore, this means that Fox News has a conservative bias,'" he writes in an advance copy provided to Washington Whispers. "Instead, maybe it is centrist, and possibly even left-leaning, while all the others are far left. It's like concluding that six-three is short just because it is short compared to professional basketball players."

Over 80% of FNC journalists voted with the 90% of journalists from other networks.
Yep!!
you know i try to tell the liberals i know that Fox isn’t that conservative but they’re so indoctrinated that they can’t handle the truth. Hannity may be conservative only because his schtick is to bash liberals.
There’s, still, a high demand, worldwide, for media entities that really are “all neutral, all of the time” and others who really are “all conservative, all of the time”. It’s bizarre and frustrating how the entire worldwide mainstream media evolved into “all leftist, all of the time”.
I did not read the article. I don’t have to. We ditched the TV years ago. I’ll tell you that we do listen to the radio and the local station plays Fox News Radio. Almost every broadcast starts with Obama did this or that. We see the complete bias. I wish everyone could see it.
You are 100% correct. There is no “right wing” in this country.
>>FOX is center-left, all others are far left)<<
I’ve been telling liberals that for years: Fox is liberal, just not as liberal as the rest. It freaks them out because they consider Fox to be far right.
I come by my position by virtue of the fact that I don’t have TV (since 1997) and get my news elsewhere.
Fox is GOP establishment.
Wow! Some of the pointy-headed academics are beginning to get it!
I bet this a career ending movement for the author, though.
When someone writes “faux news”, I know they don’t really watch Fox. They just aren’t quite as bad as the others.
I can’t stand Fox News and have waited a long time for someone to point out that they are leftists. Their top of the hour radio news is indistinguishable from ABC.
That's always been my take. I don't see Fox as neutral and certainly not as conservative biased, just less lefty biased than the others.
