The getaway driver in the murder of four Lakewood police officers was sentenced Friday to 420 years in prison.
Pierce County Judge Frederick Flemming imposed the maximum possible sentence on Darcus D. Allen, a 39-year-old Arkansas native who was found guilty of first-degree murder last month for acting as the getaway driver for shooter Maurice Clemmons.
Before sentencing, Allen turned to Kim Renninger, widow of slain Sgt. Mark Renninger and held his arms wide.

Ping!
Out on parole in 13 weeks
You are an unusually harsh person. You know in your heart it will be 3 weeks, after his book deal.
Yeah, but it’s only 300 years with good behavior.
Dang it, you’re probably right:)
420, that's cool.
Why do we have such farcical sentences? 420 years. Is that supposed to make the liberals look tough? It’s a mockery.
He will, however, be eligible for parole in a mere 350 years.
I remember the day (and nite) that the WA police were on a manhunt for these animals. Washington FReepers started a thread and there was a live internet connection to the police department. All quite hair-raising actually. Glad some justice was done.
As I do and animals is the correct term.
The most amazing thing to me in the aftermath was the criticism the officer that shot Maurice Clemmons took, it was like many people were on the filthy murderers side.
Darcus D. Allen
It’s sad that state courts don’t have the sentencing rules that federal courts have. When sentenced by the feds the criminal will do about 90% of their sentence if they’re well behaved.
Thanks!
I don’t remember that much criticism toward that officer but after the deed was done I didn’t follow anymore of it.
jaz...that just shows how screwed up our society is. (and has been).

Hee hee. I used to live in Seattle. Personally, I’m surprised this guy got any time at all.
A spider with highlights.
How can someone directly involved in the nkilling of 4 police officers be given a lifetime sentence of free room and board, free medical and dental, and not need to have worry in the world?
Every now and then...
Actually, handing down consecutive sentences makes sense. If some of the offenses for which he was convicted get thrown out on appeal, that gets subtracted from the 420. Say a guy was sentenced for four offenses getting 10, 10, 10 and 20 years respectively, he could either be sentenced for 20 years (serving concurrently) or 50 years (consecutively). If an appeal gets the charge carrying the 20 year sentence overturned, the guy would only be in prison for 10 years under concurrent sentencing, but would still be facing 30 if he were sentenced to serve them consecutively.
