New York Democratic Rep. Anthony Weiner maintained Thursday that he does not plan to resign his seat, despite growing calls from members of his own party for the seven-term congressman to step down in the wake of his admission that he conducted inappropriate online communications with at least six women.
“I’m not,” Weiner told a reporter for the New York Post on Thursday when asked if he planned to resign. “I’m going to get back to work as best I can.”
Weiner said that he is working on making amends with his wife, senior State Department aide Huma Abedin, who the New York Times reported Wednesday is pregnant with the couple’s first child.

SWEET! The weiner is going to be the living poster child for the Democrats going forward. With both him and the loser, 0bama, this will be a fun year and a half of politics!
Reminds me of a presidential appointee I knew under Reagan. At a 4PM staff meeting in his office one day, he said I know of the rumors I am leaving but let me tell you, I will leave when I am good and ready to leave and not before then. By 8AM the next day he was ready to leave as he apparently was told not to show up!
Weiner has yet to experience the painful, burning drip, drip, drip, that will force him out.
Nancy Pelosi, by “demanding a Weiner probe”, was actually trying to help him, by having his case filed and forgotten.
So, Weiner isn’t going to be a “standup guy”, as a “prominent member” of the Democrat party, and “take one in the shorts”.

EVERY TIME he opens his mouth, in his capacity as a Congressman, a Republican needs to rise to his feet and question the truthfulness of what he says. Keep it classy but say something like this: “His track record for truth-telling is suspect at best.”

The reasons why this man should leave are various- but the one I keep thinking of is how in the hell does a Congresswoman sit down to work with him on anything? I mean I would just start laughing out loud...I couldn’t take him seriously I would trust nothing he told me...
It’s pretty stunning- he says he now needs to face, or deal with, the consequences of what he’s done- but then goes blithely on his way not dealing with the first professional consequence- writing his letter of resignation to Pelosi.
“Ah did not have textual relations with that Weiner. I am going back to work for the American people.”

But lets make no mistake about where the REAL problem lies.
It is not with idiot, arrogant perverts like Weiner, or even with the Democrat power elites. It is with the roughly 50% of Americans who vote to keep these people in office.
Sex issues didn’t result in Clinton leaving office.
Why should they result in Weiner leaving office?

If Bill Clinton is his mentor, the only way he is leaving office is with a vote or armed guards escorting him out. The two men have no shame whatsoever.
No need for him to: the media will make him look as good as they can and meanwhile protect the rest of the Dems.
That’s just their job, why shouldn’t he count on them doing it?
