Unexpected Thursday (Pleasant Valley Sunday - with apologies to Gerry Goffin, Carole King and the Monkees)
The White House Press Corps down the hall Is trying hard to learn their song
Serenade the weak kneed Gibbs, who just came out to make them yawn
Another Unexpected Thursday! Spilled Oil burning everywhere! Rows of houses they're all foreclosed And no one seems to care
See Mrs. O, she's proud today because her roses are in bloom! Mr. O he's so serene, He's on TV in every room!
Another Unexpected Thursday! Here in Unemployment Land! The Press complains about how high it is And the people just don't understand
Creature comfort goals They only numb my soul and make it hard for me to see My thoughts all seem to stray, to places far away I need a change of scenery
Ta Ta Ta...
Another Unexpected Thursday Spilled Oil burning everywhere! Another Unexpected Thursday Here in Unemployment land
Another Unexpected Thursday...

Was anything bad that ever happened when Bush was President “unexpected?”

A bunch of other numbers came out along with the weekly jobless claims. I’ve been wondering for a while if the admin cooks the jobless figs. Now I’m wondering about the accuracy of those other numbers as well.

I think the White House needs to slap the “TM” symbol on the word “unexpected.”
To: Red Badger
The MSM’s use of “unexpected” really has become a parody of itself.

The joke, the real laughable matter, is the assumption that anyone can make a rational prediction at all. The whole concept of first determining the variables and then assigning values to each and then summing them all up to determine what is expected is preposterous.
A person who makes such a prediction is no more than a salaried fool.

The jobless numbers have been adjusted up after each week's report....after the fact, of course. So unexpected!

Excellent response on the link on the Drudge Report:
“Thank you Mr President from saving us from the Bush recession. Now, who is going to save us from the Obama Depression?”

We need to start hammering this unexpected business back at them.
Let them see our “unexpected” reaction to things they claim to be “unexpected.”
Idiots.
