Yesterday, this column jibed Joe Scarborough & Co. for blacking out, during Morning Joe's first half-hour, coverage of Anthony Weiner's epic news conference of the day before.
Today, a defiant Scarborough dismissed the criticism the show received, boasting "we'll talk about what we feel like talking about."
When the show opened today, it at first seemed that Scarborough was about to make amends for yesterday's poor news judgment. But Joe's mock contrition was just a set-up for a joke.

I’d go so far as to say he is the Jim Jeffords or Arlen Spector of talk show television. To me you don’t switch from a conservative to a liberal, as that would mean you were never a conservative to begin with. Also who is that stupid to do so? Clearly it is not money as he is still with that sinking ship of a network PMSNBC

Joe Scarborough and a few other congressmen suddenly abandoned their bids for re-election during the summer that Chandra Levy was killed and suspicion fell on Representative Gary Condit - 2001.
I believe that many congressmen were feeling the heat of their behavior in DC becoming public. And I believe that Joe Scarborough was at the top of this list.
Nothing was ever published about his behavior while away from his family, but we did not have twitter ten years ago.
His support, by omission, of his contemporary congressman, Arnold Weiner, probably relates to what was going on in DC ten years ago.

So true! Then, I say that this defendant is presumed innocent of the charges until evidence proves otherwise!
You can bet Ohaha is getting nervous----his reelection chances are already practically nil. Having Weiner as the lead story endangers him and Democrats.
In fact, I believe Weiner's staying put as a strategy----knowing they'll buy him out.
Remember how Rahm got the gate AND the mayoralty of Chicago? You can bet Weiner won't go until he gets enough money to makeup for the earmarks he's been pilfering.
Watch Weiner score several high paying sinecures---maybe a cable talk show, a makework, no-show job at a NY govt agency, a tax-exempt "foundation to help" victims of sex crimes (funded with Soros money).
Weiner was one of their best political attack dogs too. You got admit, he has the perfect name for this scandle.
I wonder what the main topic morning joe was on the day after Larry wide step Craig got caught in the airport bathroom tapping his foot?
Fledgling actors should watch him do his “attack dog” act on the floor of the House.
It’s a valuable acting lesson.

“A lot of people thanked us” is another way of saying many Democrats watch the show and we don’t want to upset our constituency.
Mark..can you search your records, or the tapes of how much time the show devoted to the Chris Lee incident..and maybe the Larry Craig one as well?
I was wondering the same thing regarding Craig and the shirtless guy (Chris Lee?). I'd love to see these useful idiots outed on their hypocrisy.
