After an initial "news embargo," it appears that Stephen K. Bannon has now authorized conservative commentators who have already seen the "rough cut" of his new movie to start posting their reviews about it.
I plan to use this thread as a place to post the MOST CURRENT INFORMATION about this powerful new movie.
Here on FreeRepublic.com, we are also tagging threads about this new movie with the keyword "theundefeated."

From FReeper Al B.'s post this morning (6/5/11):
The plan is to roll the film out in IA, SC, and NH....then put it in 50-100 markets (per Bannon).
He said yesterday he will be announcing rollout details sometime this week...
-- snip --
I believe Bannon said he was working on a digital distribution deal but didn’t elaborate.

From Pamela Geller’s website:

“Filmmaker Steve Bannon invited me to an exclusive screening of his new Palin documentary”Undefeated” in New York this last night. It’s a blockbuster, because she is a force of nature. He has done this country a great service in this remarkable effort. Sarah Palin is one of the most media saturated of all public figures and yet so few know her story or more remarkably her exceptional record. No governor at any time, not LaGuardia, Roosevelt or even Reagan, accomplished anywhere near what this champion achieved in her first 18 months in office.

We all fell in love with her for a reason and despite years of malevolent Palin-bashing, this film reminds us why. It is astounding. And while America may look to Alaska for it’s energy, what America should look to Alaska for is her leadership.”

From conservatives4palin.com:
...I found it particularly interesting to hear the viewpoints of some of Gov. Palin’s co-workers from her early political days.

These weren’t comments by “fans”, but real observations from the trenches.

That’s all very helpful when discerning the character of someone versus the media pundits vying for your attention.

There’s a reason work applications ask for references.
And with this film, you have them.

It would be HUGE in so many markets, even places like New York City, Boston, San Francisco, Chicago, Los Angeles, etc.

When they say 50-100 markets, do they mean individual theaters or theater chains?

From thehill.com:
...No new footage of Palin appears in the film and Bannon did not conduct interviews with her.

Instead, she appears in newscasts and other video from key points in her political career, like her maiden speech at the Republican National Convention in 2008, which is featured prominently throughout the documentary.

Palin voice runs over parts of the film, but Bannon purchased the audio rights her memoir Going Rogue...sprinkling parts of the recording throughout the film.

-- snip --
...Palin saw a rough cut of the film with her husband Todd in Phoenix, Ariz., and she told Fox News's Greta van Susteren last week that "it blew me away."
And, I understand that the pre-production "rough cut" that Governor Palin saw did not yet have the powerful musical sound track which will be in the final version of the film.

From sgpaction.com [Smart Girl Politics]:
The Undefeated is divided into three parts.

Act I details Sarah Palin’s early life and her first forays into politics.

We travel along with her as she runs for mayor of Wasilla and as she fights the GOP establishment in Alaska to become governor. The scene of her announcing her gubernatorial campaign from her kitchen in Wasilla is one that any grassroots activist can appreciate. Similarly, there is a scene relating how she relocated her inauguration from the traditional Juneau to the more sentimental choice of Fairbanks, indicating that she has been going rogue for a long while now.

Act II goes into great detail about the struggles and accomplishments of the Palin Administration.

Turns out, Gov. Palin was (and is) well versed in energy and oil, budgets (she was not afraid to wield the line item veto!), and ethics reform. Special attention is paid to Palin’s role in facilitating the AGIA license, which brought a long-awaited gas pipeline to fruition. This portion of the film was heavy on the oil and gas issues, underscoring their importance to Alaska and Palin’s mastery of their intricacies.

Act III starts in August of 2008, the point where many of us came to know Sarah Palin -- as she joined John McCain on the GOP ticket.

This is also the point in the film where we get to see the left dissolve into witlessness and vulgarity when faced with the possibility of a conservative woman becoming vice president.

[Note: There will likely be two different versions of the movie released -- one that is family-oriented and one that contains the obscene rhetoric of the left in all its glory.]
It’s sad that revisiting these images is no longer shocking, as we have come to expect this of the left, particularly when it comes to their treatment of Sarah Palin and other prominent conservative women.

It appears Sarah has thrown the rule book out the window again. I like that! When the commies in the state run “media” hate and want to destroy not only you but also your family, you might have to change the rules of the game. That’s what Sarah is doing. Take your case directly to the American people. Screw the commie libs in the so called “media”.

We all fell in love with her for a reason and despite years of malevolent Palin-bashing, this film reminds us why.

It is astounding.

Bingo, Windflier!

Also from atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com:

...Palin's background is blue collar.

Her father was a schoolteacher who never made more than $23,000 a year. Her mom was a homemaker. Her husband is working class and she belongs to no political dynasty or any insiders clique either in the beltway or Alaska.

She is us.

She is the quintessential maverick, an outsider, but despite this, she beat old boy powerhouse Republican Frank Murkowski in the primary before crushing the competition in the general election to become Alaska's youngest -- and first female -- chief executive on sheer goodness and will.

And even those of us who thought we knew what champion Palin was, knew little of her monumental achievements.

-- snip --
American needs this film.
