WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Job growth decelerated sharply in May, the Labor Department said Friday. Total nonfarm payrolls increased by 54,000, much lower than the 125,000 gain expected by Wall Street economists. This is the smallest increase in nonfarm payroll since September. The unemployment rate ticked higher 9.1% in May from 9.0% in the previous month.

Obamaville
You are correct.
However more and more people are not trusting what they hear and see and are looking for information on the Internet to decide on what to believe.
The rest are watching “Biggest Loser”, not realizing or caring that the biggest loser is them, having voted for the biggest presidential loser in our history.
Of course, Obama is a schmuck, but there are reports on Gallup that 47% of Americans favor redistributing wealth from the rich .... I believe herein lies the real problem.
It seems almost half of Americans don’t WANT to be Americans anymore, or never really understood or understand what it is to BE an American. They’d rather pattern themselves after weak willy Euroweenies and take us down this road to their magical utopia.
Palin is right about at least TRYING to educate dimbulb Americans about our heritage. It’s sad her tour is being maligned.
My Pure BS comment was directed at your statement:
“Obama and his buds are just administering le coup de grace.”
Don’t sell him short. This is his economy. Period.
You have kids? Grandkids? You want them to live in a freedom loving free enterprise capitalist system or a communist gulag? It really is that simple. It's your call America!
Actually, I'll go further, I would say a majority of the people think Obama is either doing the best he can or doing the right thing (the mass of young greens and old leftists absolutely believe that crippling the American economy is "saving the planet.") The greens (the Luddites) are a massive source of political money, probably a bigger source than the unions...and they have successfully brainwashed generations of young mush-filled skulls.
Even with a terrible economy it is going to be ridiculously hard to beat the hip young man-of-color who is a perfect representation of modern American media and culture.
They will wake up!!! Why??? Because their political butts are on the line. If Obama remains POTUS, the Democrat Party will go down with him. Forget the media and the Democrat Party. Millions of Americans of all stripes are suffering every day because of this America hater, POTUS Barack Hussein Obama!!!
Its BUSH, BUSH, BUSH.... if Bush wouldn’t have made me spend so much I would have more to spend now....
The destruction of America is moving along right on Obama’s Communist schedule.
“Even with a terrible economy it is going to be ridiculously hard to beat the hip young man-of-color who is a perfect representation of modern American media and culture.”
We are in complete agreement.
And if America re-elects this scoundrel, America will get what it deserves. Sadly, people like you and me will be collateral damage.
Except that you don't want the economy to be really bad - it's that it already is, we knew that it would be, with the Dems in charge, we just want the blame to go to the proper source. And in a sane world, Obama would be toast. Of course, we don't LIVE in a sane world...
Same with what Rush said, when the WSJ asked him for 400 words about the upcoming BHO disaster, and he said "Hell, I don't need 400 words, I only need four - 'I Hope He Fails'." Because the only way for the country to succeed - and the people in it - would be FOR Obama's policies to fail. Unfortunately, we pay the price while this bastard's out playing golf. Hopefully after January 2013, he can play all the golf he wants - as a private citizen.
I remember it, though I was very young. I used to be surrounded by gas stations where I lived...and I remember it taking 5 minutes to get out of our driveway - when we had gas to run the car - because of the even/odd days. I remember how lousy things were, and hoped I'd never see it again. Now, there is gas - but instead of no gas to put in the car, there are no jobs to earn the high money it takes to PUT the gas in the car.
Obviously there are jobs, but since the Left said that 4.4 % UE under Bush was horrible, then 9.1% under Obama, 5+ years of a Dem Senate, and 4 years of a Dem House (2 of those years with overwhelming & filibuster proof majorities) is a borderline depression.
As Reagan once said (updated for today), "It's a 'recession' when your neighbor loses his job. It's a 'depression' when you lose yours. And 'recovery' is when Barack Hussein Obama loses his."
I notice you unexpectedly left the word unexpected out of the article headline. LOL.
As long as Obama and the liberals achieve their objectives, they don’t care about their short term losses. That was evident with the passage of Obamacare. They know that in the long term, they will achieve permanent majority status thru greater dependence on government and the changing demographics thru our immigration policies.
The fact that he spent Memorial Day on the golf course says everything to me about him.
Where is the media? Obama lied and 5M people are out of work.

I can't think of a single time since Obama took office where the numbers from previous months was revised up. Only downward revisions, buried in the middle of a story.
The economy has regained only a fraction of the more than 8 million jobs lost during the recession. Economists say payrolls growth above 300,000 a month is needed to make significant progress in shrinking the pool of 13.9 million unemployed Americans.Ya hear that nobama? YEARS!The rise in the unemployment rate from 9.0 percent in April reflected discouraged workers who had been inspired by the pick-up in hiring in April re-entering the labor market.
"There is so much slack in the labor market it's going to take a long time to get the unemployment rate down to between 6 and 7 percent. That's going to take years," said Stephen Bronars, a senior economist at Welch Consulting in Washington.
One more sentence from this article:
"The data lent more fuel to talk about the need for the Fed to extend its asset purchasing program when it expires this month, but officials at the central bank have set a high bar for any further easing of monetary policy."
I was unaware that "thin air" could be considered an asset. Now I must reallocate my portfolio :)
