The store may suffer devestation when the turnstile door locks on them but they’ll be on surveillance tape and news of the event would spare the store or any other store with locking turnstiles from their target list in the future.

It's possible. However, I doubt the majority law-abiding members of American society will stand by indefinitely and allow their businesses to be robbed with impunity. It could get ugly. That's what happens when you allow criminals to go free by simply claiming 'racism'.
The complete explanation for the kind of mob theft we see in this disturbing video is too complex to try and delineate here but the basic premise is clear; the racial grievance hucksters and the liberal utopians who always seek to blame the 'underdog' for whatever criminal acts they commit are a large part of what we call the 'entitlement mentality' of far too many Americans and especially those who can be termed 'racial minorities'.

If the fathers even know their own offspring, chances are you'd have to broadcast the video to the prisons, parole them out and then hope they don't join in on the next flash mob war-party.

What I do know (as I approach 7 decades on the planet) is that in the early 1960's, George C. Wallace was embraced by the genuinely good and authentically Christian people of Alabama when he stated: "...segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever".
Then, there was what I believe a real change both in the hearts and minds of the white people of the South and in George Wallace himself. It was no longer acceptable to speak of segregation as he did in 1963.
The South and America as a whole (and certainly Free Republic) repudiates racism -- a racism that was once actually considered acceptable and, in some cases, the morally right thing. Surely there must be a similar change of such magnitude possible in black America? At least, I hope so.
Now what's wrong with this scenario?

A terrorist has a huge force multiplication factor. A small gang can terrorize thousands of residents. This is because the residents aren't allowed a proactive defense ("go out and kill them all") but gangsters can do a proactive offense.
In this case nothing can be done short of closing the store and reopening it tens of miles away from the nearest public transit.
Quite a few science fiction books show the future society as deeply segregated, sometimes with physical barriers, ID cards and security. The writers have the right to write what they think, and that's what they see as most likely. The reason is that humans are all different, and if you have ten sheep and ten wolves in an enclosed space this balance won't last long. However modern PC theories believe that a few sheep taken now and then by a few wolves is an acceptable price to pay - as long as they themselves are not one of those sheep who get eaten.

Does the bear know better when it attacks someone in the woods? Does the bear's ignorance mean that the potential victim cannot defend himself?
