A student who objected to prayer being part of Bastrop High School's 2011 graduation ceremonies enlisted the help of the American Civil Liberties Union. However, another student whose role was to call for a moment of silence during Friday's ceremony led the audience in prayer despite the ACLU objections.

There is hope.
God bless Laci.
The school didn’t endorse it. So what is the ACLU’s problem?
Declare war on the ACLU because they have declared war on our nation.
I guessing Laci won’t be getting the 2011 ‘Kennedy’s Profile in Courage’ award.
Civil disobedience is the best way to deal with stupid superintendents, judges and activist lawyers.
> “The First Amendment prohibition on government
> endorsement of religion exists to protect the minority

Let’s have a look at the first amendment.
“Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion nor prohibiting the free exercise thereof.”
Looks like the first amendment was written to protect religion from the government, as well as from communist ACLU guttersnipes.
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree.. do you suppose they would go after an 18 year old girl for her freedom of speech?
We need to sue the ACLU.
Wow, good for her!
It doesn’t appear that Congress was involved in this situation at all.
What laws do Louisianans have regarding religion and religious expression?
The tyrds at the aclu are making a hollow argument.
Far more actual Americans need to stand up like this and show some guts!!!
She has as much right to make her statement as the God hating atheist POS who called the ACLU.
I have NO respect for one person who thinks they can make others crawl for them because they call the ACLU.
They can kiss where the sun don’t shine.
Look at all the anti’s here in the comments section of the Bastrop Newspaper article on it.:

The prohibition of religion is NOT freedom of religion!
AND WHAT IF IT DOES? So what! Let the ACLU sue. The school district should not even bother to answer it or spend a single dime. Let them get a default judgment. what will the court do? How will it get the money? Not a single public official would dare to life a finger to help. THIS IS WHAT EVERY SINGLE SCHOOL MUST DO - JUST IGNORE THE ACLU SUITS AND THEY WILL GO AWAY. PERIOD.
Yes, we have freedom of religion....not freedom from religion. This Orwellian/Marxist idea that religion can not be in the public square is unconstitutional. The mention of God is allowed by our Constitution——if the idea of God is not allowed....neither can the idea of No God....since there is no scientific proof of no God....so since the faith of Atheism is allowed....then they have to accommodate all religions...particularly the historic Christian religion. Never has there been a successful society that refuses to practice and promote religion in the public square. (of course, Marxists understand to destroy a nation you destroy their religion and the natural family will fall apart).
Christian societies were the most successful in the history of man from many measures because that religion is based and seeped in Natural Law Theory....the very concept the USA’s legal system was built on—based on Logic and Reason.
