Mosab Hassan Yousef worked as an Israeli agent for about ten years. When I met him, he was a young and wild Palestinian. Over the years, I watched him become one of the most important players in the bloody intelligence game in the West Bank.
Mosab was never a yes-man. He had strong beliefs and character, and he never made any attempt to flatter anyone.
Last week, I read an article by one, Walid Shoebat, who claims to have been a PLO terrorist who bombed Bank Leumi in Bethlehem. Yet, I never heard his name before, never saw his name in any Israeli intelligence files, and there is no record of any such attack.
I found it strange that, while his brothers and sisters are being slaughtered in Syria, Libya, Egypt, and Yemen, Mr. Shoebats biggest concern seems to be a year-old television interview. He claims to be a great supporter of Israel, but where was he and what was he doing during the Second Intifada? While Mosab was risking his life day and night, Mr. Shoebat was busy collecting donations with his 800 number.

I’m sorry, but I just can’t get past the idea that there is a REAL person in the world named Walid Shoebat.
Does he have a brother named Beavid Hatglove?
I just got his book the other day, God’s War on Terrorism, and am in the process of reading it.
I thought I read somewhere that Shoebat is not his real name, that he operates under a pseudonym for security reasons.
As part of my job as an Israeli Shin-Bet agent, I visited many times the Masqubiyeh Prison. Reading Mr. Shoebats description of the place, I can only say,Mr. Shoebat, you know nothing of the Masqubiyeh!I've read Yousef's Son of Hamas. My recollection is that there were a few things that struck me a little bit strange but on the whole it was a gripping account.
Shoebat has written a bunch of books, that I think I might have been interested in, but I don't think I've purchased any of them. I think it's because of the reviews I saw at Amazon about these books, but I'm not sure.
The word Taqiyya comes to mind.

As anyone who knows me can tell you, I have been saying this about shoebat ever since I first heard him speak. Never trusted him and nothing he said rang true as I know it to be. He wanted the money and he scammed Christians to get it. period.
he has also been know in the anti-terror circles as being a huge phony, so does Brigette Gabriel, she is not trusted either, but she gets an audience
I presume you mean phoney in the context of capitalizing on their particular form of noteriety, not as being plants.
True :).
correct
Also, all the posters to this thread who think themselves clever by mocking Walid Shoebat seem to know nothing of him. God save save us from know-nothing smarta$$es on FR.
The Shoebatman speaks truth.
I’ve heard him as well.
Also, will you please be so kind as to provide some evidence that the people whose OPINIONS differ from your OPINION regarding Mr. Shoebat’s honesty and sincerity really are ‘know-nothings’? In a related question, have you always considered your personal opinions to be actual fact or did it take a lot of time for your ego to become so overdeveloped?
Finally, I have some bad news for you: It will probably have to be God who saves you from us ‘know-nothing smarta$$es’ here at FR (if anyone does, that is). For you see, I just reviewed the standards for posting messages here and in much the same way as they contain no restrictions on ‘arrogant, egocentric know-it-alls’ posting their opinions on FR, they also don't seem to restrict ‘know-nothing smart-a$$es’ from posting their opinions on FR.
After all, this is a FREE Republic, right?
This isn’t about personalities. It’s about what Hassan Yousef either did or did not say. We have a language gap, since my Arabic is insufficient, and we haven’t heard from any fluent speakers who can translate. The Shin Bet agent might have translated the TV interview and explained it, but instead he dismissed it with cryptic half-explanations, leaving us with nothing but Walid Shoebat’s partial rendition of the content, and attacking his credibility. Can somebody who speaks Arabic fluently please listen and translate?
Is there a smaller town next to it called Robin?
