THAT IS SO WRONG! I never came close to saying anything like that. I introduced CBS correspondent Danielle Nottingham's report on the latest regarding Osama bin Laden. Here is where I think the intial poster stopped listening: Her story excerpt verbatim says, "Tomorrow - the President heads for Ground Zero in New York City -- where he will meet with families of those killed the 9/11 attacks. He invited former President George W. Bush to join him -- but, the man who launched the hunt for Bin Laden declined."
LAUNCHED! So please, stop sending me hate mail. And maybe, just maybe, consider for a moment that an accuser may just be flat out wrong, before you threaten the accused.

This does sound like a simple case of misunderstanding, and I can see how you would be upset to be incorrectly accused of saying something that you did not. There’s a fairly simple way to settle this, however — have your station release a video clip of the statement in question and post a link to it here. Then everyone can see (and hear) for themselves and there will be no question as to what was or was not said.
In the end, the truth is the most important thing.
sorry, you were misquoted. we keep trying to be better than the ‘progressives’ were during the Bush adm. but every time we look up, we get poked in the eye.

Please understand, however, that you just signed up yesterday, and we ordinary users have no way of verifying your identity (although site management presumably does).
Two points for your consideration:
1) Would it be possible for you to post a link to your actual segment, so we can see for ourselves?
2) If you are concerned with being slandered, please take a step back for a thought experiment.
Have you ever considered, in the light of your experience, what Sarah Palin's life must be like (Trig is not her child, nationwide late-night host joking about the statutory rape of her daughter, being accused of fomenting the Gabrielle Giffords shooting)?
If you choose to lurk or to log in from time to time, you will find that FR is fascinating, funny, rough-and-tumble, acerbic, and exhilarating.
That's all on the same thread.
With time you will learn to distinguish serious discussion from earnest legpulling, trolls from stalwarts.

What the heck are you talking about? That’s not how Freepers act around here. We do not send threatening emails or make phone calls to other members. Besides, phone numbers are not required at sign up.
Maybe you should go over to DU and ask them. Sounds more like their MO.

I have been on this site for 15 years.
I have found more news here FIRST than any other place, in addition there are stories you will never hear anyplace else.
For the most part ‘Freepers’ are cordial and polite to everyone -even liberals- as long as they can contruct a coherent thought in complete sentences. In fact dissenting opinion is welcome- preaching to the choir does us no good- we WANT to try to change minds.
You might find out some things if you stick around long enough, with an open mind.
I heard the original broadcast AND can see how someone not paying close enough attention might have heard LOST instead of LAUNCHED, but you have to understand the mindset here.
We are very used to liberal media blaming Bush for everything. In the frenzy of the last two days some people may have gotten overzealous in their reaction to yet another example of blaming Bush when everything Obama campaigned against he continued to implement.

I'll take you at your word but you should also see how someone could easily mistake ‘launched’ for ‘lost’ especially if your were listening from a car on a highway or something like that.
