Someone posted yesterday that a Cleveland TV station reported that "President Bush, who lost Osama bin Laden, declined President Obama's invitation to Ground Zero."
Then other posts accused me of making that outrageous statement. Now I'm getting threatening calls and emails.
THAT IS SO WRONG! I never came close to saying anything like that. I introduced CBS correspondent Danielle Nottingham's report on the latest regarding Osama bin Laden. Here is where I think the intial poster stopped listening: Her story excerpt verbatim says, "Tomorrow - the President heads for Ground Zero in New York City -- where he will meet with families of those killed the 9/11 attacks. He invited former President George W. Bush to join him -- but, the man who launched the hunt for Bin Laden declined."
LAUNCHED! So please, stop sending me hate mail. And maybe, just maybe, consider for a moment that an accuser may just be flat out wrong, before you threaten the accused.
I think she looks fine. In fact, if she is ever in the DC metro area, I would be willing to make it up to her in spirit of Free Republic.
I am going to ask a question that I bet other readers are wondering as they look at this thread.
Is LynnaLai (5/5/2011 signup date) the reporter in the image posted by Perdogg in post 3?
Did the reporter create a new account in FreeRepublic.com with the user name LynnLai just to post a defense of an allegedly misunderstood quote?
Help me out. It's early enough and I haven't had any coffee.
Maybe, just maybe, you should take your own advice and consider for a moment that not all of us are sending you so-called hate mail.
That is my understanding.
I am a giver, what you can you say?

What the heck are you talking about? That’s not how Freepers act around here. We do not send threatening emails or make phone calls to other members. Besides, phone numbers are not required at sign up.
Maybe you should go over to DU and ask them. Sounds more like their MO.

I agree, but she will have to fly half way around the world for me to entertain her :(
Sorry...forgot to Ping you.
Given the snippet of her hobbies, below, I bet she'd enjoy that...but you'd better ask her hubby first!
Her hobbies include cooking, hiking through the Metroparks, golfing, playing classical piano, as well as watching football and foreign films. But there's not much time for any of that these days. She and her husband, Phil have two young daughters Kayla and Carina.
Oh.
Welcome to Free Republic
I have been on this site for 15 years.
I have found more news here FIRST than any other place, in addition there are stories you will never hear anyplace else.
For the most part ‘Freepers’ are cordial and polite to everyone -even liberals- as long as they can contruct a coherent thought in complete sentences. In fact dissenting opinion is welcome- preaching to the choir does us no good- we WANT to try to change minds.
You might find out some things if you stick around long enough, with an open mind.
I heard the original broadcast AND can see how someone not paying close enough attention might have heard LOST instead of LAUNCHED, but you have to understand the mindset here.
We are very used to liberal media blaming Bush for everything. In the frenzy of the last two days some people may have gotten overzealous in their reaction to yet another example of blaming Bush when everything Obama campaigned against he continued to implement.
Have a nice day
Oh, and the new birth certificate is (another) fake.
You sound kind of whiny.
I don’t know if you’re going to make it here.
That’ll work.
Oh- and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE compare the (usually) polite discourse here with a nice liberal site like Democrat Underground
Then come back and tell us where you see real filth and hateful comments.
I'll take you at your word but you should also see how someone could easily mistake ‘launched’ for ‘lost’ especially if your were listening from a car on a highway or something like that.
