Someone posted yesterday that a Cleveland TV station reported that "President Bush, who lost Osama bin Laden, declined President Obama's invitation to Ground Zero."
Then other posts accused me of making that outrageous statement. Now I'm getting threatening calls and emails.
THAT IS SO WRONG! I never came close to saying anything like that. I introduced CBS correspondent Danielle Nottingham's report on the latest regarding Osama bin Laden. Here is where I think the intial poster stopped listening: Her story excerpt verbatim says, "Tomorrow - the President heads for Ground Zero in New York City -- where he will meet with families of those killed the 9/11 attacks. He invited former President George W. Bush to join him -- but, the man who launched the hunt for Bin Laden declined."
LAUNCHED! So please, stop sending me hate mail. And maybe, just maybe, consider for a moment that an accuser may just be flat out wrong, before you threaten the accused.
EXCELLENT idea. I also think that it's the responsibility of every FReeper to try to independently confirm things before taking action.
I’m very interested in this hate mail you are getting. You know you can post those email’s right to this forum; if you would do that; with the screen name of who sent them; we all would be interested.
How about it; would you do that please. It would go a long way to proving you are not a troll.
I believe you are concerned. Post the Hate Mail...Please!
(sorry, I DID mean to ping you to that...)
Yup. There was a thread yesterday about the reporter. It’s been pulled by Jim per the posters request.
It wasn't posted to her. It was posted about her--about what she allegedly said on-air.
I'm guessing this was the thread (though I didn't see it before it got pulled):

It probably did since the OP put the station’s email and phone in the posting.
She didn’t say she posted anything yesterday. She signed on to defend herself and to correct the record.
She should be applauded for so doing.
The state of current journalism in America.... My generalization is more accurate than hers..lol.
Oh cut me a break. How do you know your emails were from posters here.
Not necessarily. Threads come up in searches and you don’t have to sign in to read FR. That the INFO came from here is likely.
Wow, you’re hot. Single?
Violating netiquette. And copyright.
I hope that you'll give us a report on what the police response to this is.

Just asking.
The thread with (apparently) misinformation was pulled but it included this reporters email and a phone number. I don’t know, of course, if this poster is actually the reporter but it is possible. As to the threats, a lot of people read FR. It wasn’t necessarily a FReeper. However we haven’t weeded out all the nuts through the power of “ZOT” yet. ;-)
I am the originator of the thread and comment you refer to. I trust your post here is truthful and that you said “launched” instead of “lost”. I apologize for any trouble and concern my post has caused you. I did not call the station or send you any emails and am sorry that others may have done so as a result of my post.
