US strike violates Pak sovereignty: Musharraf

CNN-IBN

Posted on May 02, 2011 at 01:58pm IST

New Delhi: Former Pakistan president General (retired) Pervez Musharraf called the operation by US forces to kill al Qaeda leader and 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad near Islamabad a violation of Pakistani sovereignty."America coming to our territory and taking action is a violation of our sovereignty. Handling and execution of the operation (by US forces) is not correct. The Pakistani government should have been kept in the loop," Musharraf told CNN-IBN in an exclusive interview."Foreign troops crossing the border into Pakistan will not be liked by the people of Pakistan.

US forces should not have crossed over into Pakistan," he said.Musharraf, who was the chief of Pakistani Army before he orchestrated a bloodless coup in 1999 and took over the government in Pakistan, said that Pakistan has also been incurring the wrath of terrorists and has been an ally in the 'war against terror'. He said that all the forces trying to neutralise terror group should trust each other.

"If there is a lack of trust, it is bad. We are fighting the same enemy. It is wrong strategically and the issue of lack of trust is very bad. There has to be trust between the two agencies fighting the same enemy," he replied when asked if US claims that Pakistan was not kept in the loop about the operation against bin Laden were true.

He rubbished speculations that some Pakistani authorities were helping bin Laden and they helped him during his stay in Abbottabad, which incidentally also has the Pakistan Military Academy.

"There is no possibility of any local administration collusion but there could be involvement of

If I were him, I’d be laying low and hoping the U.S. looks the other way on the likelihood that the Pakistani government knew exactly where Bin Laden was the whole time.

If I were him, I’d still walk with my head held up high. The US government has known for a long time that the Pakistanis were playing a double game. Bush says as much in Decision Points.

One would think that harboring an international terrorist, wanted by several nations in connection with the deaths of thousands would be cause for finally shutting off the bribery spigot to Pakistan.

There are a lot of things that smell funny on this. And if Pakistan was not in the loop, then we just made a nuclear power very angry.

“The Pakistani government should have been kept in the loop,” Musharraf told CNN-IBN in an exclusive interview.”

Yeah, so the many sympathizers in the Pak Intelligence service could warn him.

I feel like George Bush and co. spent 9 years building a house, Obama comes in to pound in the last nail, but gets all the credit.

Electronic detection wasn't the issue. it was because of the noise they made and the relative slowness of the attack.

There had to be a lot of empty space from where they entered the country to where they went.

However, even in the city someone should have been suspicious. One resident reported that it was very unusual to hear choppers in the morning and what he heard was very loud.

In other words, the military was asleep to not question what was happening and why were choppers flying so low over the city in the middle of the night.

Stuff it Musharraf you muzzie con artist. You can run but you can’t hide and we don’t give a crap about your “sovereignty” when you shield terrorists. Mullah Omar is next on the hit list and he’s probably living next door to the presidential palace.

I just read that FOUR helicopters were involved. One was lost after a ‘hard landing’. That left three birds to take everyone out.

One initial report stated that 40 U.S. troops were involved but later reports state that was 20 to 25 troops.

The capacity of a Blackhawk is 11 troops plus crew so three would be the hoped for minimum to get everyone including any possible captives out. Two would hopefully do in a pinch but the loads would be above the desired limits.

Suck it, Musharraf. You knew where UBL was and you protected him this whole time. You’re lucky we didn’t take you out too.

This seems to be the only campaign promise Obama kept. He said he would go in without their approval, and he did.

In this case, it would seem that Obama's arrogance finally served us well.

I will begrudgingly state my happiness that Zero’s not acting like Kerry with the UN approval of US military operations crap. Kerry and most Dems think you’re a war criminal if you advocate pre-emption.

“Wouldn’t want to be a Pak intelligence handler right now as their terrorist charges are now screaming like little girls at them asking how are they going to protect them from America.”

I want all Muslims to be afraid of us! I despise their religion and politics. It is like Dick Cheney said, “Today, the message our forces have sent is clear — if you attack the United States, we will find you and bring you to justice.”

The poor dears! They must have the vapors.

Cutoff all foreign aid now. Pakistan has declared themselves an ally of the Taliban and are actively seeking an alliance with Afghanistan so the three of them can throw us out.

B*tch slap Musharraf!

Exactly, Musharraf could not care less if the US wiped out every terrorist in Pakistan as it would make his job as president 100 times easier.

I don’t care if Bin Laden was hiding in the basement of Buckingham Palace...There is no sovereignty on earth that trumps the blood debt Bin Laden owed us.

The distraction and gamesmanship is aleady beginning to obfuscate Pakistan’s obvious complicity in the care and feeding of OBL.
