John Bolton suggested Friday that Barack Obama is laying the foundation to push an ambitious gun control agenda if he wins a second term.
"We can understand that, as he likes to say, he's playing the long game, and that 'leading from behind' means waiting until he's elected to a second term when he faces no further political constraints and his true agenda can come to the floor, "Bolton told thousands of gun owners at the National Rifle Association's annual meeting here. "And I believe right at the top of it is [to] increase gun control at the federal level and at the international level."

Speaking for myself, this would truly be a life changer.
I have been a law abiding citizen for most of my life (I was a bit wild in my youth).
I served my country enlisting in the Army, at the age of 17 1/2 in 1965. I wanted to jump out of planes and kill the bad guys.... (I was also a stupid kid. LOL)
I served as a LEO for 30 years, retiring at the rank of Detective Sergeant for the Major Crimes Section. I kept my oaths and I defended the constitution.
I now sit on my mountain and take care of my wife of 38 years and mother of our two adult children, my beloved dog, our geese, ducks and chickens. I fish and hunt... I love to travel all over our beautiful country, I love being on the water and I don’t bother a soul.
Without the slightest hesitation, I will toss out my long known reputation in about 2 beats of my heart, if that white hating Black bastard and his traitorous democrats, screw with our gun rights.
Instantly, I will become a felon, as I will refuse to abide by any such violation of our constitution, ANY.
I believe that Obama plans to circumvent the 2nd Amendment with the use of treaties.

Buahahahahahahaha! Obama gun control? He is about 4 years too late. By now American Patriots have enough guns and ammo to wage WW III without any government help at all.Guys who used to keep only 500 rounds and buy weekly at stores now have squirred away 10 thousand rounds each, at a minimum.

Nah, he isn't going to do confiscation. He's not that dumb.
Think of more of a "death by a thousand cuts" scenario instead.
1.) Lots of executive orders to restrict things like foreign ammo and foreign weapons.
2.) A flurry of "re-interpretation" of law by the BATFE. Keep everyone guessing if they are violating laws. You could become a felon overnight and not even realize it. Combine this with super aggressive enforcement of those laws to make people worry about being the next unlucky guy. They'll pick off people one by one and make examples of them as well.
3.) Get friendly governors, state senators, and mayors to introduce a ton of antigun legislation to overwhelm our defenses. Think of an attack on a very broad front with all of the usual stuff like assault weapon bans, microstamping, etc.
Like I said, Obama isn't that dumb. Just waiting us out in his first term demonstrates this fact, in my opinion.
One more thing that Obama seems to realize all too well: If he tries to pass federal laws restricting firearms, it is costly, difficult, and will probably fail. Executive orders and using the BATFE work far more efficiently for his needs. If he tries to pass a law, HE has to work hard and will probably fail. If he goes the other route, WE have to work hard and will probably fail.

Yes, unless we can elect a GOP Congress to head him off at the pass. The coming Senate and House elections are far more important than the Presidency but it would be nice to have all 3 again. A veto-proof Senate will be crucial if he's re-elected.
Got to say that you are 100% right!!!. We could have purchased a brand new Dodge Ram truck if we had what we spent on guns and ammo. And I still don’t feel I have enough. Got the food and water set aside too. Either Obami or the zombies, we are ready.

One little problem though, Executive orders have to be rooted in law already passed.And then we have the 2nd amendment that gets in the way.
Obama wants to open that can of worms? I hope he does, for nothing could galvanize the right more quickly than such an issue. I hope he tries his death by a thousand cuts, it will only increase conservative patriot election turn out to close to 100%.

Indeed so. What we need are people who are willing to take a stand for justice, not this social crap, but the real deal.

Perhaps you should spend more effort criticizing Obama, and less criticizing Trump...
A first test case will be decided in the next couple of weeks or month.
The “Public comment period” on the ATF proposed “Non-Sporting imported shotgun ban” ends 5/1/11.
The guns in question are clearly “Sporting” as imported, it is perfectly legal to modify them to a configuration the anti’s claim to be “Assault Weapons”.
Several American companies do so as there is a large market for them.
There are also several companies making after-market parts to improve their “Sporting” features. Those companies get zero mention in the BATFE “Study”.
This is the trial balloon to see if Obammy-BATFE can get away with banning guns by issuing “Ruling’s” “Determining” they are “Non-Sporting”.
The real long term answer here is to do away entirely with the “Sporting Purposes” requirement of the “National Firearms Act of 1934”, “Gun Control Act of 1968” , and other subsequent feculent unconstitutional infringements (1986, 1994, etc.) at ALL levels of government.
This is a litmus test that all candidates must pass in order to get my support or vote.
