We are under tornado warning with quarter size hail just across town. Rotation on radar passed here about 20 minutes ago.
Big cell with large hail about ten minutes away.

Tere were tornados from this cell minutes earlier.

That’s right here by me. We’re all in the house, moving to the bathroom.

Guy on 33/40 just said 25 dead, hundreds injured, some towns totally destroyed, like Cullman, in Alabama. Thousands of houses and businesses destroyed. Millions in damages. We just had a huge thunderstorm with big hail in it. Just reporting that the tornado warning for Talladega just got canceled so we have no warnings in our area now. The dry line is now part way across the state and the dew point is dropping and it will cease the severe weather. Earlier he said the dew point was in July numbers today and causing this weather. So, looks like we are clearing the tornadoes but still lots of rain around. I think we are about to be safe to go to bed and not worry. I have been up since 4:30 a.m. when this stuff hit us this a.m. and did all the major damages around our area right here. They will be cleaning up for weeks.

I'm north of the city. We're getting dumped on again with rain, but the wind seems under control. They did expand the tornado warning region to include the northwest portion of the county. I'm keeping a close eye out.

Looks like heavy rain in the city, except for the westernmost part where may be worse.

Cullman has been hit by something like three separate tornadoes; many locations are being hit multiple times.

Catoosa County, GA, is just across the border from Chattanooga. I have friends there as well. Hopefully, they’re OK. I know that the male is at work right now.

Showing video of Cullman right now. Looks like a squad of B52 unloaded on it. The downtown has disappeared. One of the weather guys grew up there and when they started showing the video he was saying that building is gone, that building is gone, over there was a building, the church is destroyed, city hall destroyed. A huge huge mess there.

Any word on down town B’ham? I have friends at AL Power and haven’t heard back from them in over an hour.

The tornado didn't go through downtown; it went through the west and north suburbs.

If they’re with Alabama Power, they’re busy. TVA is very busy. There’s major damage out there, and it will likely take weeks to get everything back together. Seriously!

Side note - lots of lightning here, and my dish keeps dropping out. Heavy rain, and wind is picking up again. I’ll be watching carefully.

Noticed that Chattanooga is setting up a command post at Collegedale city hall. That is close to the area where tornado damage was noted earlier, near Bill Jones Road and Apison Pike.
