I wonder how many were added by the birth/death ratio (a number that is almsot always too high). I’m guessing almost 100,000.

We will miraculously see 7.9% before the election heats up, since the media deemed 8% unemployment as the worst a president can do to get reelected.

There were 1,553,000 first time jobless claims in March. 216,000 new jobs were added. Okay, I am sure this has been explained before, but could somebody go through it again for me. How can the unemployment rate fall given these facts?

Great! I figured that sooner or later, despite the best efforts of the right wingers to destroy the economy, Obama’s policies would come shining through, and bring back prosperity.

Although this is somewhat good news, it appears to be a ruse! All the talking heads were expecting the rate to go up this month. Seems a lot of folks are no longer looking for work and are not considered in the percentage. IMHO, the rate is closer to 9.1.

The key phrase from yesterday's job report:
claims in the prior week were revised up to 394,000 from an originally reported 382,000
No biggie. Just a 12,000 person error. [/s]

It is unbelievable the amount of massaging and manipulation that is going on with the job figures -- and the MSM aren't even taking notice.
FoxNews just reported this morning that joblessness percent among young people was in the upper-teens to low-twenties.

This thread from yesterday:
PRINCETON, NJ -- Unemployment, as measured by Gallup without seasonal adjustment, was 10.0% in March -- down from 10.2% in mid-March and 10.3% at the end of February, but above the 9.8% at the end of January. U.S. unemployment was 10.4% at the end of March a year ago.>

They better be careful with their propaganda.
Those sitting on the sidelines (who are currently not counted) may see some hope and enter job-seeking market, sending the unemployment rate soaring.
