The Republicans should be waiting for the fleebaggers on the capitol steps and hand each one a flea collar. I was really hoping someone would set up some tire spikes on the Wisconsin border to give them the proper welcome home.

This is as good as when the Packers won the Super Bowl. But more meaningful.
What a year for Wisconsin!

I’m glad they waited. It allowed the RATS to look like a bunch of fools for a few weeks.

Let me add something on this, they can make moral argument on that but not a legal one, it clearly isnt one. It doest matter what Walker said on TV on that.Let me try to make sense of this. One thing I heard is that the WI constitution has a very narrow definition of what "affects spending." Maybe the vote to pass the bill was legit. I suppose this plays out in court now, along with the "open meeting" issue.

Hi Lurker,
Still here... Doing my best to assist with the Wisconsin Insurection. Pretty intense up here. My sister is a teacher, I'm pretty sure she will never talk to me again. :)
You can keep our Dem Senators down there, thank you very much. :)

Question to anyone: Was anything illegal done here by the Rep. party?

Maybe they shouldn’t have taken their toys and went home.

I read something here about a week ago suggesting splitting the bill might make it vulnerable down the road.
The Wisconsin Constiution is not specific as to what constitutes a "financial" bill. Dem Lawyers can argue to Dem Judges that just about anything is ultimately financial. You need to keep an eye on the Wisconsin Supreme Court which currently leans to the right, but one seat is being contested in an April election which could throw it the other way.

It's been over two hours on MSNBC and that has not come up. Schultz has the 10 flee-baggers on right now 10:10 pm EST and they haven't suggested it yet. They are claiming the law demands they had more notice before a vote, but since they were in hiding, that's a loser moral argument.
Next segment Schultz has someone on to discuss legal options.

I try not to get too excited about the good news, like tonight. Seems there is always a sharp object around the next corner to pop the bubble of jubilation.

it’s going to be funny as heck when the Republicans poll numbers start skyrocketing up now!
Just imagine how happy all those union people will be when they get a LARGER paycheck, because union dues wont be taking out of it!

Fitzgerald’s statement:
http://www.wqow.com/Global/story.asp?S=14221624
... “This afternoon, following a week and a half of line-by-line negotiation, Sen. Miller sent me a letter that offered three options: 1) keep collective bargaining as is with no changes, 2) take our counter-offer, which would keep collective bargaining as is with no changes, 3) or stop talking altogether.
“With that letter, I realized that we’re dealing with someone who is stalling indefinitely, and doesn’t have a plan or an intention to return. His idea of compromise is “give me everything I want,” and the only negotiating he’s doing is through the media....
“We have confirmed with the Legislative Fiscal Bureau, the Legislative Council and the Legislative Reference Bureau that every item in tonight’s bill follows the letter of the law....

My sister is a teacher, I'm pretty sure she will never talk to me again. :) I'm truly sorry. I have a brother with whom I no longer speak over similar issues. We can pick our friends, but we can't pick our families.
You can keep our Dem Senators down there, thank you very much. :)
And here I was being all polite and friendly and you go and try and stick us with your Dem trash. Like we don't have enough of it already.
Take care and good luck.
Best,
L

How do you know notice wasn’t given, assuming the rest of what you wrote is correct? Can you define proper notice?
