LIMA, Peru Joran van der Sloot's lawyer says his client will plead guilty to killing a young Peruvian woman he met gambling but argue temporary insanity in a bid for a shorter sentence.
The attorney for Van der Sloot, who remains the key suspect in the 2005 disappearance of U.S. teenager Natalee Holloway on the Caribbean island of Aruba, says his client will use the "violent emotion" defense in the Stephany Flores case.

Joran van der Sloot’s probably tired of getting it In der Chute!
Hows the rectum Joran?
heh heh he
take the little bastard out and hang him
He’s a victim of BDS!
In the legal profession we have a word for people who use the old temporary insanity defense - - “convicts”
Most of know how badly that defense now works here in the US but has anyone read how it plays in Peru?
Wouldn’t be surprised if he walks again. Such are the times we live in.
On the bright side, constipation is a thing of the past.
We’ll see if he will get away with that ploy.
How many episodes of “temporary” insanity can he claim?
Peruvians will be deciding the fate of this rich worthless scumbag who thought he could get away with anything. I wouldn’t give him much for his chances.
Except if somehow they can bribe the right people. That's a VERY big if. As has been said, the victim was the daughter of a popular Peruvian and Joran is a foreigner. My opinion is that he'll never see freedom again.
The dead young woman’s father is a former presidential candidate in Peru.
Van der Sloot is screwed. Couldn’t happen to a “nicer” guy.
As a mother, I can’t think of anything more horrific than what he’s done to several families.
Let him rot.
Hanging is the only just punishment for this...thing.
He has killed at least two young women, and shows no signs not only of remorse, but that he knows that he did wrong.
The Van Der Sloot parents deserve alot of blame too for molly coddling this spoiled monster. Bad seed indeed.
Hanging is too kind for this demon.
I agree. They deserve much blame, especially the father!
