In the legal profession we have a word for people who use the old temporary insanity defense - - “convicts”
To: Free ThinkerNY
Most of know how badly that defense now works here in the US but has anyone read how it plays in Peru?

Wouldn’t be surprised if he walks again. Such are the times we live in.

His arrogance/stupidity world tour was a a bust. Don't see him getting much sympathy as the woman he killed this time was the daughter of a popular Peruvian. Should have stuck to killing in Aruba.
To: Free ThinkerNY
We’ll see if he will get away with that ploy.

As a mother, I can’t think of anything more horrific than what he’s done to several families.
Let him rot.

Hanging is the only just punishment for this...thing.
He has killed at least two young women, and shows no signs not only of remorse, but that he knows that he did wrong.

100 years... in with the general prison population. Nothing less.
To: Free ThinkerNY
Joran wishes he had been convicted in Aruba and spent prison time under the Netherlands system instead of facing prison in the Peruvian system.
40 years or so in a Peruvian prison is probably not very nice.

Defendant: I plead insanity.
Bailiff: Insanity???
Defendant: Yes, insanity...I’m was CRAZY about that girl!

I sincerely suspect that “temporary insanity” is not a highly respect defense strategy in Peru!
I doubt that his attorney believes this is a good defense - but maybe his only defense!!
