ROCK HILL, S.C. — As Sarah Palin wonders whether to run for president, she might want to talk to people in places such as South Carolina.
She'd find her star fading, and her prospects daunting.
Republicans still like her, but now they openly question whether she could or should be nominated for president, let alone elected.
At a recent gathering in South Carolina, the site of a crucial early presidential primary next year, party activists said the former Alaska governor didn't have the experience, the knowledge of issues or the ability to get beyond folksy slang and bumper-sticker generalities that they think is needed to win and govern.
Many are shopping for someone else. They're looking at Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., for example, and seeing what they call a smarter, more experienced candidate who's equally as conservative.
"Sarah Palin with a brain," said Gail Moore, a Republican from Columbia.

A female on the ticket with Barry is out of the question, no matter how much sense it might make, politically. Moochelle is simply too jealous and controlling to ever allow it.
My guess is that Barry's campaign people would rule it out, without even running the idea past MO, in the sure knowledge that she'd erupt like Mt Vesuvius.

End of story. Blaming Palin for supporting McCain policies in her role as VP nominee is a tactic of the PDS crowd.
I read Palin’s book and I don’t recall that passage. What page number was that on?

A)It’s a bit early yet, no one but Herman Cain has officially declared.
B)This isn’t a nationwide primary. It’s 50+ individual ones. Starting with Iowa and NH. I’m, pretty sure Huckabee was nowhere till he surged during the final weeks of the Iowa campaign.

The simple fact is that Palin burst on the scene with incredible force at the Convention. Her celebrity did not go away with the defeat. Which is why the Democrats followed her back to Alaska and did their damndest to nullify her. Say what you want about Bachman, she was simply unknown to the general population. Like Palin she profited from the Tea Party revolt, but she was still second in line. Depending on which is the candidate, she is in line for the vice-presidency but as a slightly less obnoxious version of Palin.

I like your reasoning, but there are other considerations as to who Sarah should ultimately choose as her running mate.
Allen West was only just elected to the lower house of Congress, and doesn't yet have a legislative track record to speak of. It may be somewhat premature to even consider him as a VP candidate, at this point in his political career.
He's also not the only person who could admirably serve. There are many others. Some of whom might have a combination of skills, track record, personality, base loyalty, influence, etc., that would be of more value to the Palin ticket.
Some things worth considering.
I am just praying she runs. If she does I am sure I will be happy with who ever she chooses.
I also pray that she runs, although I do believe that Sarah looks at the prospect as more of a duty to her country, than from the viewpoint of personal ambition (as so many in public life do).
In that regard, and in light of her statement that she'll run "if no other conservative steps up to the plate", I think it's clear that she's really the only 'man' standing. She'll run, and she will win.
You think Sarah Palin was governor for 6 years?
I hate to be the one to tell you that the FACT is Sarah did NOT complete one term. I am sorry, she was elected in 2006 and served two and a half years only,-—31 months.
Please inform yourself. Actually understand who you are voting for and why.
I am not some hater. I loved Sarah and lobbied for her to be on the ticket. I thought she was great in the campaign, and still think she is great in all she says and does. I really do! I love to hear her throw down the libs! She is great. I just do not happen to think she has what it takes to be President of the United States——at this time. She needs more experience, and to show some staying power. She needs to learn some leadership. As I said, it is one thing to point out problems, quite another to solve them; and still another to sell your solutions to others. She has not shown that she has the staying power to stick with it and work on answers to problems. She is great at pointing them out, weak on solutions.
She is a great critic, but then she leaves when it comes time for the solutions. She quit the oil and gas commission and the governorship.
Check her out and don’t just follow the crowd that follows great sound bites. I did, and found that is the way to get bit!
Did you know that as mayor she INCREASED the city’s debt from one million to 25 million? Did you know that? She increased the property taxes and began construction before gaining clear title to the property where she was building her big sports areana! She got out of the financial mess by asking for and getting FEDERAL FUNDS-—pork! So, we all paid for her precious local sports complex! You know, I would like one like it in my home town...
She rushes in with good ideas without clearly thinking things through. Just like her wonderful “ethics bill” which eventually led her to quit her job as governor. I want a President who can see ahead and think through his ideas and who understands unintended consequences. We have big problems and we need experience.
Did I say I liked him? I repeated what his bodyguard said about him, and it was positive. Although, he may be the only choice. I will say he would not be mine. I don’t see one single person that I like on the republican side, right now. I think Huckabee is a wonderful person, one can bring other sides together; but I think he is too soft. I didn’t like how he pardoned a bad criminal who went on to kill someone. He is more of a socialist than I like. Romney is a flip flopper who brought his state to same sex marriage and state run medical care..which I am against; Newt is for Newt....I don’t know about you, but I am discouraged.
