I like your reasoning, but there are other considerations as to who Sarah should ultimately choose as her running mate.
Allen West was only just elected to the lower house of Congress, and doesn't yet have a legislative track record to speak of. It may be somewhat premature to even consider him as a VP candidate, at this point in his political career.
He's also not the only person who could admirably serve. There are many others. Some of whom might have a combination of skills, track record, personality, base loyalty, influence, etc., that would be of more value to the Palin ticket.
Some things worth considering.
