Exactly my thought. More states will be ignoring federal law and flipping the bird at the Mau-Mau tribalist.
Very coincidental that Obama’s change of heart comes on the same day of his lowest poll numbers being released. This is a desperate move to hold his base. But one thing Obama has forgotten is African Americans, who overwhelmingly voted for Obama, are overwhelmingly opposed to gay marriage. He is taking a gamble, hoping African Americans will hold on for racial reasons, I don’t think he will win.
Very nicely done. It’s a shame Impeachment is a political act, not a judicial act.
No way we’d see more than 30 votes for conviction, maybe it would be close to 0. At this point in time, I’m not sure there are enough votes for Impeachment in the House.

You know every President has had this power to selectively enforce law, and most have exercised it...right?
Are you also aware the Federal Executive determines which cases it will fight in the federal courts...and has always had, and jealously guarded that power?

The law was passed by a president of his own party, Bill Clinton a former constitutional law profession. It was passed with huge bipartisan majorities in *both* houses of the congress. It should be vigorously defended until judicial review is exhausted.
1. The House would not even deign to propose, let alone pass, articles of impeachment over this.
2. The Senate with a democrat majority would not even come anywhere close to a majority to convict and remove, let alone the two-thirds majority required by the Constitution.
Doesn’t the Senate have to start such a proceeding?
In fact, that's the cornerstone principle of our republic.
