Oral sex could be hazardous to your health.
So say researchers who note that oral cancer stemming from the human papilloma virus is more common in the U.S. than oral cancer caused by abusing tobacco.
Researchers found a 225% increase in oral cancer cases in the U.S. from 1974 to 2007, mainly among white men, said Maura Gillison, a cancer researcher at Ohio State University.
The more oral-sex partners a man had, the greater his cancer risk, Gillison told a meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Tobacco use remains the leading cause of oral cancer in the rest of the world.
There as many as 150 different types of human papilloma viruses, and about 40 of those can be sexually transmitted, according to the National Cancer Institute.
HPV infections often go undetected and are the main cause of cervical cancer in women.
Scientists are examining whether Gardasil and Cervarix, the HPV vaccines approved to prevent genital warts and cervical cancer, could have a significant impact on oral cancer.
In the meantime, researchers are urging doctors and educators to start talking to teens in particular about the risks of oral sex.

And, that is the problem. Young people have decided that oral sex (yeah, it's not sex, even though "sex" is in the name) is "safe". So they do it quite a lot.
Multiple partners cause the HPV virus to spread rapidly and years later -- voila! -- mouth and throat cancer.
And, the remedy recommended by the left is to start giving young boys the vaccine, certainly we cannot recommend people change their habits.
They will use this study to prove that Planned Parenthood is needed now more than ever. Those of us with half a brain know that if PP did what it claims its purpose is, they would have put themselves out of business. But the left doesn’t look for logic, they just look for victims.
Bad news for you, Beave Meister. LOL!
“The findings of this study are politically incorrect.”
Actually, they are very politically correct, as the study did not make clear it it was heterosexual oral sex or homosexual.
Material difference.
Doesn’t the human papilloma virus come from women? This is about men having oral sex with women.
Bad news for cunning linguists.
Which sexual "orientation"? They do not say, whuch leads me to believe it is homos. If heteros, there are millions of white American wives asking "HUH? What men are GIVING oral sex? Not MY husband!"
You made me laugh hard....you SOB.
“Doesnt the human papilloma virus come from women? This is about men having oral sex with women.”
No, it can come from either men or women. Women just get symptoms from HPV (and cancer).
This study does seem unclear on the nature of the “transaction” — male/male or male/female.
That’s a big omission in the study, given that (for example) there is no transfer of HIV virus from female to male in normal sex, absent a pre-existing VD or injury.
I keep telling my 16 year old granddaughter...We just didn’t do it...we waited......and we just didn’t drive if we were drinking...and we didn’t have snacks...It’s called rules....And no means no....
“They do not say, whuch leads me to believe it is homos.”
Concur.
What men are GIVING oral sex? Not MY husband!

TMI, dear. Way TMI.
I do hope you are getting satisfied in other ways, though.
“and we didnt have snacks.....”

Snacks? Is that what the kids call it these days?
Well.... have to keep that in mind the next time Mrs. R2 asks if I want a “snack”.
What about Can'tTouchThis-a-cide, celebaticil and moralatrix. I hear that they are much more effective.
“Oral sex is leading cause of increasing U.S. cancer rates...”
Depends on what the definition of ‘is’ is.
Would Noam Chomsky be a cunning linguist????
I am an evil Hetero male, actually. But I do believe generosity should be reciprocated.
Romans 6:23: The wages of sin is death. I have come to believe this was meant literally, as well as figuratively/spiritually.
