A police officer who said women could avoid sexual assault by not dressing like sluts in an address to law students college has apologised.
Constable Michael Sanguinetti made the stunning remark during a meeting about safety at Toronto's York University.
While a more senior officer was talking, Mr. Sanguinetti interrupted and reportedly said: 'You know, I think were beating around the bush here. Ive been told Im not supposed to say this, however, women should avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimized.

P.S. The slutty chick at the bar is about 100 times more likely to be the victim of date rape or to be raped while she is passed out drunk.
Well thanks for that cutting edge news, teacher...
But the fact is, if ya throw out a piece of raw meat, ya better expect flies to land on it....
What about the women that claim rape after consensual sex?
Or the ones that make up the charges?
Or the ones that change their mind afterwards.
Are you gonna kill those guys too?
Well, these days women have to STOP pushing their luck. For the past couple of years, I had to rot in Pontiac, MI, the ghetto if you will. I dressed in a baggy coat, basic shoes, jeans, and layered shirts. I didn’t think anything of it since I was after all walking everywhere, but at the point where I was about to leave, I realized just how smart I was in not dressing as I usually did, which is in my hometown where I am now.
It’s not like men who dress in suits for business, but about women dressing BEYOND the pale in regards to what they like to wear when they are out clubbing. It’s no longer tight pants with a sparkley shirt, it’s about a woman wearing a skirt that is barely there, flashing her lady bits, and showing all but the illegal parts of her body.
Or we should say to women...
Yeah, go ahead and dress like the slutty, attention whore beyotch you desire so much to be, but be sure, before you go out, to pack enough heat to stop any one who gives that extra special attention that you more than likely could have avoided if you didn’t dress that way.
Women want to prove how smart they are by becoming the most attractive rape magnets around, but complain when men objectify them for their bodies. Women, do you want men attracted to you for your minds and hearts or just your bodies? The freedom is yours to choose.
Men should not look at a woman dressed scanty and then think that she’s a nice girl who should be treated like a lady.
Naw, that’s more like “slaute” ~ different word entirely ~ he meant “tarts”
“Women, do you want men attracted to you for your minds and hearts or just your bodies? The freedom is yours to choose.”
Words of the infinitely wise. Women need to stop expecting the rest of society to protect them from themeslves and consequences. Society is not made for just women, but men as well.
No doubt one needs to make sensable choices to protect oneself.
When your clothes look like underwear, then you just might be sending a message —even if it is ‘just the present style’. IMMHO
Your thinking is too complex for the emotions attracted by this topic. You’ll see ;-)
Try convincing a feminazi of that simple truth.
Dressing like a slut advertises slut. No excuses for dressing slutty. What are women advertising by dressing slutty? They must be trying for attraction or action.
no thanks, I’ll leave that to people with lower blood pressure than me :)
Young women these days are far different than when I grew up. Not in a good way either.
Apparently his comments made the law students self-conscious about the way they dress. lol
I’ll find the actual study and get back to you, but apparently violent rapists are unusually drawn to either matronly women, young women with an innocent look, but never both matrons an innocents. The provocatively dressed woman was slightly more likely to have been the victim of a non-violent rape, but not nearly enough to offset the almost total absence of violent attacks.
It's probably quite common for police and security consultants to advise men not to make ostentatious displays of wealth in certain circumstances.
He left out the tip about not doing news reports from Egyptian protests.
