Thousands of Union Protesters Storm WI State Capitol; Target Homes of GOP Lawmakers
Fox News ^ | Feb 17, 2011

Posted on 02/17/2011 7:56:36 AM PST by Lazamataz

Behind closed doors, Scott Walker, the Republican who has been governor for about six weeks, calmly described his intent to forge ahead with the plans that had set off the uprising: He wants to require public workers to pay more for their health insurance and pensions, effectively cutting the take-home pay of many by around 7 percent.

...

Scott Fitzgerald, the Republican leader in the State Senate, slipped out of the Capitol Wednesday morning with his sunglasses on, head down. Protesters had gone to his home earlier in the week, forcing his family (including his wife, a school guidance counselor) to go elsewhere for a bit.

I just read this comment (approaching 10,000 comments)

“Oh man, the Koch brothers sure have their minions out on this today, don’t they? Sure, let’s wind the clock back to 1937 in Michigan, shall we? This time, we union folk will “come heavy”...and you Tea Baggers will look like Swiss cheese!”

A part of the Bill that Governor Walker is bringing through will take away the ability of Unions to deduct dues directly from workers paychecks. Instead, it forces Unions to collect dues by making workers write a check. This is the single most terrifying thing for a Union. It turns them into a collection agency.

If only we could do this with the IRS. That is my absolutely most-wished-for change to the tax code. No more automatic withholding. Give me THAT, and within six months I'll have all the other changes I'd like as well.

It is time for a Ronald Reagan/Air Traffic Controller moment from Governor Scott Walker. Time to start fighting back against the unions. Time to crush the unions and take out the trash. It starts today in Wisconsin. We are all Wisconsin Republicans today. SUPPORT Gov. Scott Walker through this tough time as he takes the tough stance on unions and public pensions.

Oh—You hear about it.

The inconvenient fact is that TEA Partiers don’t behave in that manner.

When will we hear from The Messiah; asking for the Unions to “tone down the rhetoric”, or have the FBI and DHS swarm the “extremists” to quell the “heated rhetoric”?????

That would be about one minute after hell freezes over...

“How Public Unions Took Taxpayers Hostage”

I have a big problem with unions for public employees.
they were the beginning of the end of this country.

Wish we had Walker here in MN instead of Marxist Dayton.

Emailed my assemblyman and senator this morning urging them to support the governor. They are both Republicans, but one is pretty wishy-washy. They'd better support him, but I have my doubts. A lot of nearby schools closed today due to a lack of teachers. Their squeals are now echoing across Wisconsin.

It also forces the union members to notice the money they are sending to the union each month, rather that have it just show up as yet another of a dozen deductions.

“Try living on a 0% income, Kim, you leeching freeloader. Plenty of private sector workers are trying to get by on that due in large part to paying for you and your useless husband exorbitant salaries and pensions.”

There are no reasons for unions any more, other than to advance the goals of Communism. ALL UNIONS MUST BE CRUSHED (politically) before they cause more violence and hate. All the Union Communist Movement has to offer is violence and hate.

Were unions profit-making corporations competing in the business of marketing skilled labor, they would seek to improve the quality of their product because of competition. The lack is of competition points to the real problem: government sanctioned union monopoly.

There is a reason for collective bargaining. It's called "free association." The problem is union exemption from the Sherman Anti-Trust Act in the National Labor Relations Act of 1933.

There's an email link in # 30. Send a message of support to the guv. It takes but a second.

This is a Freep. It's a call to action. THIS IS WHAT WE'RE HERE FOR, RIGHT?

Do it now. Do not pass Go. Freep directly to the Governor. You are a proud Freeper. You know what to say.

Thanks!
