Behind closed doors, Scott Walker, the Republican who has been governor for about six weeks, calmly described his intent to forge ahead with the plans that had set off the uprising: He wants to require public workers to pay more for their health insurance and pensions, effectively cutting the take-home pay of many by around 7 percent.

Scott Fitzgerald, the Republican leader in the State Senate, slipped out of the Capitol Wednesday morning with his sunglasses on, head down. Protesters had gone to his home earlier in the week, forcing his family (including his wife, a school guidance counselor) to go elsewhere for a bit.

However, he says making it harder for public employees to collectively bargain "seems like more of an assault on unions."
Bring it.
Most Americans are impatient and utterly unused to European-style "work actions."
The unions will, like liberals are wont to do, overplay their hand.
I would say threatening an elected official should carry some hefty penalties...

Remember when the Air Traffic Controller’s Union decided to stage an illegal strike? Reagan fired every one of them and rehired a whole new crew in just days. And his move still stands today.
This is what needs to be done here. Fire every one of them for threatening Public security and well being. If they react violently and damage Public property, then throw them in Prison. If they inflict injury or death on the Law or citizens, then promptly shoot them.
50 years ago, this is exactly what would have happened. Why have we become so passive at a time when we need to do the opposite?

I was saying that the event in Greece were our future-- and the future is now.
They almost are except instead of Muslim they are hard core communists. Unions lost any sight of being useful as they once were many years ago. They are just a bunch of stealing thugs.
A few years back I had a co-worker mention that our place of employment may go union and may have to strike. I told him fine, just don’t look for me on your rolls and I will be crossing your picket line to go to work if you strike.
It didn’t sit well and he mentioned he hoped that if it came to unionization and a strike there wouldn’t be violence. I told him just remember if you shoot at me I WILL shoot back and I know where every one of you all live as well, two can play at that game. There’s union thuggery and then there’s a blood feud. He shut up and has never mentioned union to me again. Talk of union petered out.
Call out the national guard and tear gas their lazy cracks!
Thanks and I did.
There are many fine public employees, but when organized into these groups (gangs) they turn into a pack of wild dogs, devouring the wealth of taxpayers.
The time is right. The disgusting greed and sense of entitlement displayed by the public employee gangs in insisting on bleeding the taxpayer dry, during this terrible economic downturn, has opened the eyes of the average taxpayer.
Does anyone have a link to the commercial that the republicans are running that includes footage of union facism and violence?
If they are not at work, they should be fired.

The strikers should be given a whiff of hunger

Time to bring out the National Guard against these Communists! They can't get what they want through the system, so they attack the politicians physically. Now I'm not averse to the latter if the politicians we're keeping their oaths, but in this case, the Communist Union types want to subvert lawfully elected and oathkeeping lawmakers.
Put 'em down. Hard.
