Thousands of Union Protesters Storm WI State Capitol; Target Homes of GOP Lawmakers
Fox News ^ | Feb 17, 2011

Behind closed doors, Scott Walker, the Republican who has been governor for about six weeks, calmly described his intent to forge ahead with the plans that had set off the uprising: He wants to require public workers to pay more for their health insurance and pensions, effectively cutting the take-home pay of many by around 7 percent.

...

Scott Fitzgerald, the Republican leader in the State Senate, slipped out of the Capitol Wednesday morning with his sunglasses on, head down. Protesters had gone to his home earlier in the week, forcing his family (including his wife, a school guidance counselor) to go elsewhere for a bit.

I think they were building up to chaos because they’re so close to their utopia, yet so far with this stubborn population refusing to submit to Communism.

They have a huge problem though, unlike any other takeover in history, the communists are facing a legally armed population who’ll defend their families and properties whatever it takes.

Thank God, our founding Fathers didn’t leave us helpless against a future naked aggression.

JFK, with Executive Order 10988, planted the seeds for the destruction of the nation. No wonder he is an idol of the left.

Will Wisconsin go the way of Illinois? No pay raises for the past three years, and the new state income tax hike that amounts to a $2,000 drop in salary. Good luck with that, Wisconsin....They aren’t “getting” that there is no money there for government workers to get higher wages than private sector workers on top of insurance, pensions, etc. Altho the first place to cut are the unnecessary “administrative” desk jobs that have been handed out as political favors.

Conservatives made their voices heard last November in Wisconsin.

She’s outright lying. Isn’t the call for 12% pension and 6% to healthcare? That’s 18% of her monthly pay. If that equals $1200, then I’ve got a bridge to sell her. They just want sympathy for having to do what everyone else in the private sector has been doing for years and years. She probably if tenured makes around $50-60K with $35K in fringe per year. Maybe more even. It’s a numbers game and they are pulling at heartstrings. Well here in WI they’re all pulled out. MPS is a failing system, one of the very worst in the nation and no one has an ounce of pity for these people any more. The good ones will rise to the top, the crappers will go to the sewer without collective bargaining. Their jobs are no longer a fact, but in play, like everyone else in the real world. Too bad, so sad. Either produce or someone else will. Greatest thing to happen to Wisconsin in decades.

Conservatives are too busy working to pay for these idiots to take time off and counter demonstrate.

Is that really true, or are we just too conservative to get out and demonstrate?

Take a vacation day and make your voice heard. Demand a seat at the negotiating table with the SEIU.

Every GOP law maker should post a sign on his lawn Trespassers Will Be Shot then stick a gun through a crack in the door. and start firing blanks. See how brave those union thugs are.

My UAW “Brothers” today were fit to be tied, all were sure it is the end of the world as we know it. I pointed out to the people that the state of Wis. is broke and these folks need to realize the golden goose is on life support. The results? I am a baby killer that wants to force retirees to eat dog food. The propaganda has been driven deep into the brain cell of these sheeple.

O wait, it’s actually over $70 per hour, based on Wisconsin’s 180 day school year

Fire all these whiny, self-entitled communist union members. Maybe if fired, they’d have to “work” ore than the 10 days per year that they do. BOO HOO! Why would anyone want their children to be exposed to these communist losers?

This is up to the wI Governor to fire all those teachers and put out the “hiring” sign and replace them all if it goes on for another day or two after 2 warnings. He just needs to order a thorough list of every teacher not at school for any day of the protest. The WI Governor should also, at that point, order all public employee unions in WI to be illegal and disband them, as they are committing extortion.
The implicit “American citizen militia”, i.e., every free, armed citizen does not need to do anything until innocent citizens are being attacked, which I doubt will happen because the unions would arouse the anger of everyone else and create the political will to make public unions illegal.
If that day does come the U.S. military would view orders to fire on a citizen militia as illegal rather quickly, IMHO.

Where I work is mostly non-Union. We just got notice of changes in our retirement; where we will have to pay more for our health insurance and our spouses beginning in 2013. I am paying 60% more in health insurance then I did back in 2006. Yet- these Unions riot when they have to start chipping in for their health insurance and pensions. Makes me sick...

Are the taxpayers paying for this out of town trip, hotel stay? If so, if I were Governor, I would be docking their pay for hotel stay and their daily pay for not showing up to work.

Then I would start firing a public employee every day until they return to work.

I wonder what keeps our Congress from doing this very thing? Could you imagine the Dems walking out of Congress and refusing to vote?

These are really bad times coming down the road....

We can thank Nixon for federal witholding.

Nixon? I don't think he was President in 1943.

"The withholding tax on wages was introduced in 1943 and was instrumental in increasing the number of taxpayers to 60 million and tax collections to $43 billion by 1945."

They are not cutting anything!

They are asking that these leeches pay a little more towards themassive giveaway they already get.

If they are not happy with it, fire-em and many of us will gladly replace them for that deal.

As a self employed person struggling daily to keep things afloat - I want to puke at these communist maddoffs.

I heard that a group also has gone to Speaker Boehner’s house. Remember, IIRC, the usurper and illegal alien pResident in the Whit-hut once said: “We know WHO you are and WHERE you are” or something like that, or “get into your neighbor’s face”!!!

My wife just received a notice from the State of Alaska yesterday that because of the loss of Federal Funding programs that were available to pay for the health insurance for our 17 year old son that was placed in foster care due to autism they just sent us a bill for $5,000 due by March 1st.

And then our wages will be garnished to continue paying for it until he is 18. We don’t have that kind of money, especially when I am a seasonal worker.
