NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. Rutgers University campus police tonight barred some 400 Jewish students and their supporters, including some Holocaust survivors, from attending what was billed as an anti-Zionist gathering at the state school tonight.
The student-sponsored event was announced with an open invitation campus-wide, and Rutgers policy is for all student activities to be open to the public.
However, when the sponsoring organizations of "Never Again for Anyone" saw they were outnumbered by Jewish students and their supporters by about 4-to-1, they asked campus policy to bar students wearing kippas and eventually limited attendance to known supporters of the International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network, Americans for Muslims in Palestine and the Middle East Children's Alliance.
Pleas to university officials from the Jewish students and their supporters for access to the event went unheeded.
"They started charging money as soon as they saw Zionists outside," said Rabbi Akiva Weiss.

It seems that anti-Semitism is on the rise all around the world.
ICNA’s true goals:

Well, I hope that organization doesn't have too many members, but the pandering to the intolerant and bullying antisemites on college campuses is a shameful trend (but not surprising considering the 'quality' of leadership on most campuses).
Now we will see what Governor Christie has to say about this outrage.
"Judenfrei" used to be the term, wasn't it?
Rutgers should be sued and stewed. Between sanctioning anti-Jewish activities on campus and punishing Jews who wish to engage in their God-given rights to counter-protest, this university belongs somewhere in Nazi Germany, not the USA.
Another black mark for our state university.
Any more black marks & the school might tip over from the extra weight.
Too bad for Rutgers that it is so hard to tell who is Jewish. If only there were some piece of clothing that each could wear to identify them...that would make the Rutgers policy so much easier.
Maybe the university should figure out a way to readily identify them,,, like having them always wear a star of David on their clothing./
Outrageous
I know so many Jews who think that attending meetings makes some kind of earth shattering point. Want to defeat anti-semites? Here’s how: Stop voting for and giving money to Democrats.
Well that’s mighty Nazi of them
I had never heard of the groups involved before this article, but a quick search led to this: http://www.ijsn.net/home/ the International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network, one of the sponsors of the event eventually seeking to bar these particular pro-Zionist Jews. The leader of the IJSN is apparently a survivor of concentration camps in WWII and presumably as Jewish as the kippa-wearing pro-Zionist Rutgers students mentioned. Which group was more frum, and which was more frey, I don’t know. But I think it’s irresponsible, especially for non-Jews like myself and I’d guess most of the posters here, to characterize this as anti-Jewish when both groups involved were Jewish or partly Jewish.
I looked up frum and frey. I found frum — devout or observant of the 613 Jewish commandments — but all I got for frey was something out of Norse mythology. What is the Jewish/yiddish meaning of frey?
I’m no expert; I had just heard the term in reference to a girl from an Orthodox Jewish group that was called very frum, and I think it was Wikipedia that explained it to me - and in the same article there it talked about how the opposite was frey, which I’d guess was Yiddish from the German word frei, meaning free, here as in ‘laissez faire’, liberal, or libertine if taken to an extreme.
What they’ve done should be condemned from every pulpit across America!
They did not just try to silence the dissent, they specifically targeted Jews. Even if the IJSN is led by a self-hating Jew, the group "asked campus police to bar students wearing kippas." Kippas are the little caps worn by Jews.
Hitler was part Jewish too, and I hope you agree that he was anti-Jewish.
One Alumni here embarassed yet again. And they wonder why I don’t send money.
Anti-Zionism = Anti-Semitism
Rutgers would make Hitler and Goebbels proud
If you’re able to know what’s in the heart of a Jewish man and rule him a ‘self-hating Jew’ you’re clearly a better man than me, and I don’t think I can even argue with someone with that ability. I thought that a Jew making the request to bar Jews might have led to an analogy to conservative meetings where disruptive liberals are banned, both groups of presumably the same ethnicity, with very different views - but what do I know? Hitler, for all the other things he was, was not Jewish, not by religion, and not by ethnicity. He was raised Catholic, as his family was. Allegations that he was illegitimately descended from the Jewish employer of one of his female relatives have been considered baseless since for the time it’s alleged, only Christians were allowed in the particular municipality. Both groups involved at Rutgers had survivors of Hitler’s anti-Jewish policies.
