WASHINGTON (CN) - Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich says he suffered permanent injuries from biting an olive pit hidden in the sandwich wrap he bought at a House of Representatives cafeteria. He demands $150,000.
The former presidential hopeful sued Restaurant Associates, which operates the cafeteria in the Longworth Office Building, its parent company, Compass Group USA, and food suppliers Performance Food Group Co. and Foodbuy LLC.
Kucinich seeks damages for negligence, in Superior Court.

Gotta LOVE that lowest bidder stuff huh Denny!?

I am no fan of Dennis the Menace. But if a restaurant puts an unpitted olive inside a sandwich, where one expects only pitted and usually sliced olives, that is negligence.

"..he suffered permanent injuries from biting an olive pit..."Didn't read the article -- these wouldn't happen to be BRAIN INJURIES, would they?

I’ve busted a tooth the same way. But my parents raised grown-ups. I got it fixed and moved on.

I know implants are expensive, but how many teeth did he break? In DC, the mouth is the tool of one's trade.
Regardless of its actual or end use.

“I know implants are expensive, but how many teeth did he break?”
Implants cost about $1,000 each. He broke about 150 teeth.
Maybe they were his baby teeth.

This can’t be real. WE pay for his healthcare!

It’s hard to get a deep enough puncture to suck blood when you’ve broken one of your fangs. And I guess Dennis doesn’t understand the legal difference between a foreign object turning up in one’s food vs. something that is a natural part and may or may not be entirely removed during preparation, e.g. an olive pit. Oh, and good luck with the Tilapia special, Dennis.

Yuppie food made with olives will occasionally have one or two pits in it. Buyer beware. Sincerely, a tampenade afficianado.

Of course, it's the equivalent of me choking on a coconut, but the concept is the same.

$150,000 will not sufficiently reduce his pain and suffering.
The humane thing to do is have him put to sleep.
Tell his moron constituency that a UFO picked him up and now he's living in a space farm where he can play with other political lunatics, and maybe they can visit him some day.

Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
