WASHINGTON (CN) - Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich says he suffered permanent injuries from biting an olive pit hidden in the sandwich wrap he bought at a House of Representatives cafeteria. He demands $150,000.
The former presidential hopeful sued Restaurant Associates, which operates the cafeteria in the Longworth Office Building, its parent company, Compass Group USA, and food suppliers Performance Food Group Co. and Foodbuy LLC.
Kucinich seeks damages for negligence, in Superior Court.

If the GOP in Ohio can’t redistrict this evil gnome out of Congress, they need to resign from their offices and sell shoes at a strip mall in Akron.
To: Baladas
if you are what you eart, does this mean that he’s an olive pit?

Saw the headline and figured Kucinich was suing because the House Cafeteria didn’t have highchairs.

My dog can wolf down a meat and cheese wrap, with a tiny little pill hidden in the middle; and spit out the pill, completely intact. OTOH, it seems that a sitting Congressman can't detect an olive pit in a sandwich wrap.

I did almost the exact same thing last week. Bit into a black olive that was supposed to be pitted. It wasn't.
Dang! Wish I'd have kept that pitt. I'd sue.

Funniest line of the article:
The congressman says he was injured by the sandwich on April 17, 2008.

Am I the only person who thinks it is strange that a UK-owned conglomerate runs the food services at the US Capitol? There wasn’t a single US company that could have won the contracts and provided the catering?

He will win, maybe not $150,000, but something substantial, for his pain and suffering. The vendor wants to keep the business there.
I do not have a problem with him suing for damages, if warranted. Though I do wonder how a person can chew into a pit and do the damage he did?

At least he’s not suing the congressional healthcare provider for failure to treat his mental health issues.

I wonder if he has actually paid his tab at the restaurant? Most of the members don’t until they are pressured to do it.They just ‘charge it’ like they do with all their other government spending and expect someone else to pick it up.
