America is a nation of laws. Unfortunately, America has become a nation of SELECTIVE ENFORCEMENT of LAWS.

Was the employee white and the attackers black and/or Hispanic? Employee appears to be Puerto Rican or Hispanic of some sort. The feral, teenage girls who beat her are black.

Worked for Ol' Vlad!
Other methods of punishment included skinning the feet of thieves, then putting salt on them and letting goats lick off the salt. This was a way that Vlad kept his people in order and taught them that stealing would not be tolerated in his lands. No exceptions were made: he punished anyone who broke his laws, whether men or women, no matter the age, religion or social class.
Romanian folklore and literature, on the other hand, paints Vlad Țepeș as a hero. His reputation in his native country as a man who stood up to both foreign and domestic enemies gives him the virtual opposite symbolism of Stoker's vampire. In Romania he is considered one of the greatest leaders in the country's history, and was voted one of "100 Greatest Romanians" in the "Mari Români" television series aired in 2006.

So, what happens when those enforcing the laws are punishing innocents and rewarding/excusing evil
I don't pretend to have solutions for social ills other than legally electing scofflaw politicians OUT of office and then electing officials and judges IN TO office who will enforce laws. I do know that murder and attempting to evade and conceal a murder goes against everything in the Constitution.

“Translation: Employee is white. Attackers are black.”
Let’s not judge the attackers on their skin color. Let’s judge them on the content of their character!

It seems that this is where the “battle” (undeclared “race war” if you must) has shifted.
Both the blacks and hispanics are vying for the “chosen minority” in America - the one that gets all the political perks,
and the black population is resenting the “encroachment”, or as Al Sharpton put it, the “interlopers”,
big time.

The whole point of the reference is to compare a culture that causes NO TROUBLE in our society with the culture that causes [nearly] ALL the trouble in our society.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Exactly.
Personally...I vote for the “being intentionally obtuse “ option.

...legally electing scofflaw politicians OUT of office and then electing officials and judges IN TO office who will enforce laws... Occupy your mind with thoughts of the "perfect" politcal candidates while you're receiving that beatdown...
...and pray you're still alive when it's time to vote.

The whole point of the reference is to compare a culture that causes NO TROUBLE in our society with the culture that causes [nearly] ALL the trouble in our society. Agree and not sure 'why' this is an issue to take pains with. No one can doubt the meaning of this usage; and having lived in the heart of Amish country for years; feel strongly, that they would appreciate, even by PC kick; what is in fact, a compliment.
Of course, the Amish are not sitting at their computers, reading/posting on Free Republic. . .
If that is not the issue; then perhaps, some underlying causes for 'shortness' here. . .(Not enough sunshine, perhaps?)

Yeah, sure. There is no “commonality” in crimes of this sort,
just as there is no “commonality” in acts of terrorism worldwide.
Do you think of yourself as a “better person” for ignoring or denying the truth?

I don't pretend to have solutions for social ills other than legally electing scofflaw politicians OUT of office and then electing officials and judges IN TO office who will enforce laws. I'm 50 years old, and I've been trying to do what you describe all my life.
It's not working.
I'm ready for Plan B.
To: moovova
There, I fixed it.
The situation was a vicious assault by several people. Shooting and then dropping the gun and then walking away is an attempt to evade and conceal a murder. It doesn't fix anything.

Lets judge them on the content of their character!
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
It's the character of the individuals that comprise the culture.
So?...Who do I want for a neighbor? A nice Mormon, Amish, or Baptist family..or..families of these attackers?
