Wilmington, Delaware (CNN) -- Police have found homicide victim John Wheeler's cell phone, according to a taxi driver who was interviewed by investigators this week.

Athel Scott told CNN National Correspondent Susan Candiotti that police told him they found the cab driver's number in the phone of Wheeler, the former Pentagon official who was found dead in a Delaware landfill. He said investigators wanted to know how his number got there. Scott... says he told the police he didn't have any idea.

"I never got a call from the man. I don't know him... He's never been in my cab. I don't know how my number got in his cellphone," Scott says he told police...

Aside from mentioning - again - this cab driver; allowing he is the same, form original investigation; how is it; they do NOT say, 'WHERE' they found Jack Wheeler's i-phone?

Sad; and no question this story got 'short shrift'; but then; the MSM quickly/conveniently; had a scripted ending to the mystery; and they moved on. And they never looked back.

For a ‘bed and breakfast’ it doesn’t seem to be very handicapped friendly, with those spiral staircases and non-ramped entry and all, does it? Just sayin’

And I still don’t get why there is a private home in the middle of a public park. It seems to have very little future historical value, unlike the Wheeler home.

If I recall correctly, the phone was supposedly found in the house near a baseboard frame at that time, when the house was all subfloor and framing — nothing was closed in nor finished. But I could be wrong — that could have been where the smoke bomb was found. Anyone else remember?

If I wasn't so lazy I would have made my own ping list for this thread. I will put it on my “To Do” list. :)

We are into the one year mark of Jack's last week on this earth. (I hate using the term ‘anniversary’ in the context of a brutal death.)

I did a search looking for updates in the investigation. If anyone thinks anything has been reported, much less the status of the investigation, say “AYE” Is that a pin I hear dropping?

I remember Jack, as we all do. If his family sees this thread, please know he has not been forgotten.

He deserves better than to be remembered as “John P Wheeler III, the man found in the trash dump.”
