Wilmington, Delaware (CNN) -- Police have found homicide victim John Wheeler's cell phone, according to a taxi driver who was interviewed by investigators this week.
Athel Scott told CNN National Correspondent Susan Candiotti that police told him they found the cab driver's number in the phone of Wheeler, the former Pentagon official who was found dead in a Delaware landfill. He said investigators wanted to know how his number got there. Scott... says he told the police he didn't have any idea.
"I never got a call from the man. I don't know him... He's never been in my cab. I don't know how my number got in his cellphone," Scott says he told police...

For a non-story, it sure was widespread. I guess the plan is to get the public thinking Wheeler is responsible for his own murder. That way the powers that be don't need to solve anything.
He was just a troublemaking crotchedy old geezer who wandered into the wrong people. Just forget about it, move on.
What a disgrace!
The guy was crazy. Come on! Morris said.
He also uses the words bellicose and disoriented.
He then says Wheeler spent 2 days in Wilmington trying to cover his tracks. Let's get real...he was either 'crazy' or not, disoriented or not, bellicose or not.
Morris has never gotten over the "You can call me Sally" comment. ===================
bellicose: warlike; aggressive; ready to fight
I saw agitated and bewildered at times in the video, but I did not see bellicose.
I agree. Scott Morris comes across as a guy who's striking back at Wheeler for some percieved injustice. I found his comments petty, possibly vindictive. Wheeler was a man of stature and importance compared to Morris. Morris may resent that.
Updating the Wheeler thread:
Radell Smith at the Examiner has two recent articles about John Wheeler, cyber warfare and cyber security.

Shows that would have pressed for it are no more: Fox dropped "America's Most Wanted." Nancy Grace and Jane-Valez Mitchell, which might have mentoned the case, have changed to the old "Court TV" format and, along with others shows on Headline News carry only an ongoing court cases, filled with repeat, repeat, repeat of the same info.
I can think of nobody to pressure to keep this case alive. What can we do? Write to "letters to the editor" and email Web sites?

I wonder what would happen if the media gave it the same attention it gave Casey Anthony?
If only the media would give him 10% of the Casey A. news that is noting but repetition!

Ping to an astonishing new slap in the face of the Wheeler family’s grief.
Thanks to Protect the Bill of Rights for the research.
Hold on....is this the house that was being built where Wheeler’s phone was found? I can’t remember that part.
Thanks for the ping!
If you want to know how things are done in Washington DC, read “Family of Secrets”, by Russ Baker. An intense investigation? This is the first I’ve heard of the Wheeler case in at least six months!
