Obama Eyeing Internet ID for Americans
CBS News | CNet ^ | 1/7/10 | Declan McCullagh

STANFORD, Calif. - President Obama is planning to hand the U.S. Commerce Department authority over a forthcoming cybersecurity effort to create an Internet ID for Americans, a White House official said here today.

It's "the absolute perfect spot in the U.S. government" to centralize efforts toward creating an "identity ecosystem" for the Internet, White House Cybersecurity Coordinator Howard Schmidt said.

That news, first reported by CNET, effectively pushes the department to the forefront of the issue, beating out other potential candidates including the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.

Talk about unecessary bullcrap.

Au contraire, my FRiend. Net Neutrality is the first step to "control" the Internet and so far, nobody stopped them. Net IDs is the second step to "intimidate" Americans and we'll see if anybody stops them. The third step is to "throttle" certain bands to "knock out particular sites."

Cutting the communication between Americans is essential to the Communist takeover. The Internet and talk radio control is necessary to stop citizens in any part of the country from alerting the rest of the country about what the thugs are doing. One example is weapons confiscation, which is paramount to subjugating an armed population.

0h0m0 and his communist regime are moving quickly, albeit in small, stealthily labeled steps.

It'll be an ugly fight because communists don't respect the people and don't give an inch without being forced.

"We are not talking about a national ID card,” Locke said at the Stanford event. “We are not talking about a government-controlled system. What we are talking about is enhancing online security and privacy and reducing and perhaps even eliminating the need to memorize a dozen passwords, through creation and use of more trusted digital identities."

Of course we're not... Yeah, THAT'S the ticKET! Just register for your government issued password. It's easy and takes just a few minutes of your time to fill out the federal internet survey. But make sure you include your e-mail address and social security number as well as the e-mail addresses and social security numbers for all members of your household so we can be sure we don't leave anybody out of this wonderful service provided to you courtesy of our beloved President...

Amendment 4 -

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

Obama Eyeing Internet ID for Americans

To be named after Michelle Obama, right? The mark of the wookie?

"Well, let's see. This is connected to your electronic medical records that say you should have a BMI of 25 and you're at 27 and you've already reached your allotment of food this week for what has been determined to be the caloric intake you need to get down to 25. Transaction declined."

"This shows that, for your income, you have already reached your CO2 allocation limit for purchases of anything with a carbon impact. Transaction declined."

Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google is behind this. He campaigned hard for BO in 2008.

Ah yes, google.

The selfsame company that "disappeared" half a million hits on image searches for "obama birth certificate" between July 15 and July 17, 2008.

No bias there...

No ID required for voting, illegal aliens, terrorists.....etc. but when you want to access information on the web, the Stasis will need to see your ID......LMAO

Fake ID, Fake Mac addresses, encryption.......How are they going to control the zero and one’s broadcast through the air on the pirate internet? There’s no way to implement such a power grab....Americans will just circumvent it and demand short trials and justice ala Ceausescu in Romania.

: The goal, as described in a blog post by White House cybersecurity chief Howard Schmidt, is to secure and protect transactions in cyberspace through use of a special ID—a smart card or digital certificate—...

: ...THAT WOULD PROVE THAT PEOPLE ARE WHO THEY SAY THEY ARE!!!!

: These digital IDs would be offered to consumers by online vendors for financial transactions...

How to kill this: Insert a requirement that the same ID be used to vote.

Will we have to produce a copy of our birth certificate as a prerequisite for obtaining a government-issued Cyber-ID?

If people think of it as using your SSN as your netID -- same concept, really -- the country would go ballistic.
