Discovery Pulls Michael Jackson Autopsy Special

The U.K.'s Discovery Channel has reportedly pulled its upcoming documentary Michael Jackson's Autopsy: What Really Killed Michael Jackson.

The move comes after complaints from the singer's estate and a public outcry from fans.

According to a new report from nymag.com, the network yanked the special out of respect for the trial of Jackson's physician Dr. Conrad Murray.

"Given the commencement of legal proceedings beginning next week, and at the request of Jackson's estate, the broadcast of the medical documentary has been postponed indefinitely," network reps said in an official statement.

Earlier this month, reps from Jackson's estate submitted a heated letter to Discovery chief David Zaslav claiming the special was in poor taste.

A print advertisement for the fictional, unauthorized program -- which wouldn't be shown in the U.S. -- shows a body covered by a sheet, with one hand poking out wearing the singer's well-known sequined glove. "Michael Jackson's Autopsy: What Really Killed Michael Jackson," was to have aired on Jan. 13.- [TMZ]

Now, Stalin was said to be obsessed with confirmation of Hitler's death. Rumors flew that the body was a double and Hitler had actually escaped. The remains were said autopsied *to death*. Likewise, there are those who believe that Jackson faked his death with a body double, and is hiding somewhere in eastern Europe.

Discovery Comm., (NASDAQ: DISAD, DISBD, DISCK) describes itself as a "leading provider of nonfiction entertainment".
