African-American leaders unite around Carol Moseley Braun for Mayor (Chicago)

frican-American political leaders rallied around former U.S. Sen. Carol Moseley Braun on Saturday as a unity candidate best qualified to be Chicago mayor, capping a holiday week of private negotiations that left her the only major black politician in the campaign.

Flanked by prominent black elected officials who dropped out and endorsed her bid, Braun told a crowd at the weekly Rainbow/PUSH Coalition meeting on the South Side that she has "the most credentials and the most qualifications and experience of all of the candidates running" to replace retiring Mayor Richard Daley.

"And so they just chose the most qualified candidate for the job," said Braun, who made history as the nation's first black female senator but dropped out of elected politics after losing her re-election bid in 1998.

I know you knew, the explanation was directed to scottinVA and other FR’s who think the Chicago 1st round mayoral is a partisan primary. The comment about Braun who’s already started hammering Chico was for you. She’s shilling for Rham. Don’t forget Emmanuel was charged in some black circles with abandoning Obama, as soon as she loses she’ll endorse him when he makes the runoff.

I don’t know why your messin with White unless your setting up for a state rep/senate race in 2012. Watch that re-map. I still think they’re gonna dump on Lipinski creating 2 “hispanic” districts. As well as cut up another GOP district.
