CNN) -- Arkansas game officials hope testing scheduled to begin Monday will solve the mystery of why up to 5,000 blackbirds fell from the sky just before midnight New Year's Eve.
The birds -- most of which were dead -- were found within a one-mile area of Beebe, about 40 miles northeast of Little Rock, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission said. The blackbirds fell over about a one-mile area, the commission said in a statement.
As of Saturday, between 4,000 and 5,000 blackbirds had been found dead, said Keith Stephens with the commission.
"Shortly after I arrived, there were still birds falling from the sky," said commission wildlife officer Robby King in the statement. He said he collected about 65 dead birds

This happened in Beebe, Ark? Is that pronounced Beebee like the guns? That may be the answer.

The clue is the few birds that were found alive ont he ground, unable to fly or unwilling to fly, confused, walking in circles.

Do Blackbirds eat rice?
Some people here have stopped observing the tradition of throwing wedding rice outdoors because they learned that birds die after they eat it. Don't know how true it is.

I was testing one of Nicolai Tesla's designs in my basement. Had a huge unexplained power draw just before midnight. Nothing got hot on my end, seemed strange. I figured, you know, "one of those things." Your fault! Didn't Tesla map electrical force lines thru the Earth? Pump power in the ground, and it pops out elsewhere along these lines. I need your design, there's some people who need to vanish!

The way a flock of thousands feed on an harvested field, they could also have succumb to burst intestines while in flight, from eating something that swelled up and burst their bowels. OR, they coul dhave been swept to too high an altitude by a strong updraft and succumb totemps or O2 deprivation. The autopsy should be interesting. This phenomenon occurs all around the globe. The really bizarre things are fish falls, hundreds of miles away from the sea or a major lake. Water spouts have been shown to cause that one.

Happens here in Florida from time to time, fish falling from the sky.
I get robins by the hundreds in my yard in the spring and fall.
The Arkansas birds may be a natural phenomena..

Sing a song of sixpence a pocket full of rye,
Four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie.
When the pie was opened the birds began to sing,
Oh wasn’t that a dainty dish to set before the king?
The king was in his counting house counting out his money,
The queen was in the parlour eating bread and honey
The maid was in the garden hanging out the clothes,
When down came a blackbird and pecked off her nose!

Sorry for my mistake. I meant to write "20-mile section" as per article. I have had the stomach virus and am not up to speed yet. If this article stays active long enough, you will be asked the same question a half dozen more times.

A liberal concoction.
Reason? They don't need a reason to dream up lies.

Big difference. The former was a serious artist, the latter a no-talent clown.
