Let's face it: We are losing against the forces of Socialism and Communism.
Over the course of the last 100 years, we have gone from a purely capitalist society, to one slowly working through the throes of communization. The New Deal; the seizure of privately held gold; The War on Poverty / Drugs / Whatever; Social Security; Medicaid and Medicare; the abuse of Eminent Domain; the creation of the EPA, EEOC, FCC, NEA, CPB, and a myriad number of other barely-accountable agencies -- these have been the slow ratcheting-up of the forces of Socialistic control.
It has taken generations, and we now stand on the precipice of the full realization of the Socialists desires: Forceful control of the citizenry -- from cradle to grave -- and the destruction of wealth and the middle class, with an emphasis to collectivizing that wealth in the hands of government.
So, it is obvious that it is WELL PAST Claire Wolfe's popular admonition: "America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards." It is, indeed, past time to shoot.
However, this is not America circa 1776. The things that may have worked then cannot work now. This is not even America circa 1968, whereinwhich only marginally violent 'social force' was useful.
Force is an odd bird, today. Let us consider the range of options available to the resistor:
Ok. Looks like direct confrontation would be a poor option. The form of tyranny we most likely face, is what I call the Soft Tyranny. It isn't like Stalin starving his Ukranian foes. It isn't like Hitler rounding up his hated Jews for orderly disposal. It isn't like Pol Pot lining up the town leaders for summary execution on the spot. It, instead, consists of a low-level bureaucrat coming over and fining you $25.00 because you are using the wrong kind of light bulb. Most students of history see that this (genocide and mass killings) are not the most effective form of control. The most effective form of control is the small regulation and the tiny civil fine. Those tend to make people behave 'correctly'.
One important caveat: If the governmental parties are NOT students of that history, then every thug they sent to round up and kill one of us, obviously, should be liquidated.
Again: giventoday's society, you are much more likely to see a soft tyranny, what are the most effective tools?
The answer is clear: Emulate the success of the left.
Widespread infiltration and the changing of the public's mind: To do this, you must educate. Free Republic is one such form of education, but it's reach is limited. The goal is to train millions of youth. Homeschoolers have a chance to do this, also, perhaps groups such as the Boy Scouts and other social groups. Here, you can educate the minds meaningfully.
Maybe even reach the immigrant population, meaningfully. Deradicalize the La Reconquistas if possible, and show them the merits of freedom and the ways to defeat - by law - government control.
Install more journalists. Train them and send them out.
Get into more churches.
Turn to social media.
Launch more conservative blogs and websites.
The best weapon against communism and socialism is truth, imparted slowly and over a generation. They have two generations on us, so we won't be alive to see the fruits of our labor.
But labor, we must.
When we next have a somewhat conservative government it would be wise to split a number of states away from the union. If this was attempted when demos are in power millions would die.
The new Red Free States would thrive and the rest would begin to starve.
Some worry that socialist infiltrators would take up residence in the new free states and try to rot them from within. But so long as the free states have absolutely no welfare system of the sort the US has now there will be a strict limit to the number of undesirables that could do this.
Other states could be encouraged to join the new free state union as long as they abide by its constitution.
-No taxes no vote.
-No welfare programs for the able.
The number of states joining would soon accelerate....leaving the socialist remainder in ever more dire condition.
You nailed it.
“I, personally, would gladly risk my life if I thought it would be effective.”
I,m pretty glad the men we call the founding fathers, as well as the men we call heros didn’t and don’t make that rationalization. A Man stands for Truth as he sees it and DAMN the consequences (a man’s gotta’ do what a man’s gotta’ do). But, this being typed by me on the internet automatically makes it the bleating of cowardpussyfaggot, so, whew, there it is, you’re right.
Revolution is a natural process while armed overthrow of government is not. The former is inevitable while the latter is not.
Our forefathers and their families did not take up arms until their government tried to take their arms from them.

“We are losing against the forces of Socialism and Communism.”
Or by it’s other name....EVIL. We are at war with EVIL. (and not just in this country)
The best hope to reverse all this is to gain control enough state legislatures to call for a Constitutional Convention.
An interesting read on this is here:

If I remember correctly, the signers of the Declaration of Independence pledged thier lives, fortunes and sacred honor in defense of their new country. And didn’t most of them lose that which they pledged? Can we do no less?
The line in the Bible, where they speak of the "Beast" and "who could make war with it" has come true. We think of this "beast" as a foreign power, when in fact it is a political beast, controlling four seats of power. The religious, the financial, the educational, and the political. We are already 3/4 of the way to completely under control. The military follows whomever pays them, and who commands them, so they are under the control of the political.
We’ve only lost the war if we’ve lost our own party. While the Republicans have shown a disturbing willingness in the past to grease up and bend over, we’ve seen what can happen when the people get angry and vote. Politicians do listen, and they heard the message of the last election loud and clear.
Our challenge is to keep that anger, and keep it focused on those we send to Washington. With just one election, we’ve blunted Obamacare and frustrated Obama’s plans for a complete socialist takeover. That’s not a bad start.
Not all is hopeless - we can still win this thing.
The November 2008 elections disgusted me to the point of despair. It was obvious that the Democrats could enact virtually any law they wanted. Obamacare was one example, and the crap that got pushed through during the just expired lame duck session was another example. It also exposed a number of RINOS who MUST be defeated.
I was watching the day Rick Santelli uttered those priceless words; "Tea Party." Those words have resonated from coast to coast, and some long serving Democrats have come to understand their strength.
My hope is that Tea Partiers will militantly continue exposing the treachery, thievery, hypocrisy, lunacy, and oppression by the leftists.
I pray to God that if the 2010 elections were a storm for the Democrats, that the 2012 elections will be a force 5 hurricane for them.
Anyway, I continue to appreciate your excellent sense of humor, and I admire your serious analysis of important issues.
Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year.
Excellent Thread Ping...
ONE OF OUR PRIMARY TOOLS TO INFILTRATE, IS TO JOIN THE REPUBLICAN PARTY AS COMMITTEMEN (AND WOMEN).
“the guerrilla tactic maybe the best one”
By guerrilla tactics, I assume you are including the (hypothetical, of course) use of arms against the government.
Well, waging guerrilla tactics against a foreign invader or unelected domestic despot is one thing.
But to do so against your own freely-elected government (as misguided as that government may be), would be considered by many patriots, including me, as a form of treason.
Of course, we’re only talking hypotheticals here.
I would instead urge an all-out attempt to call a Constitutional Convention, as noted in my post #26.

Now, how many advocates of armed action have actually fired weapons in anger or seen a civil war first hand?
Mark Levin was talking about Buffet on a recent show. Buffet likes the estate tax. When the family member dies, and the family has one year to pay the tax to the IRS, Buffet goes in and buys the business at a distressed price. A modern day robber baron. It is vital for the Congressional Tea Party members to fight like tigers to end the estate tax forever.
Well you are partly right. But no state needs to secede from the Union. This is a Civil War we are in and the States need to fight the fight. We cannot have the average citizen out in the street with an AK47.
What most people do not realize is that the Federal Government is actually not that strong. It derives its strength from the acquiescence of the 50 states.
In fact if even 10-12 states stood up and just refused to allow the federal regulations in their states what would happen? A Federal Judge would shortly rule that the Feds have the right to regulate and would order the states to cease and desist. What if they just say “NO”? What if they refuse to institute Deathcare, refuse to follow the EPA gas emmission rules, refuse to adhere to the oil and gas drilling guidelines etc etc. What is the Federal Government really going to do? Try to send troops into 10-12 states? I don’t think so. All of the troops are out of the country. The Feds would then cut off all Federal funding to those states in an attempt to force them to submit. What if the states then just stopped sending in the alchohol, tobacco and gas taxes to the Feds? They could just use that money to run their states. Without that tax money the Federal govt would shortly come to a standstill.
My point is that its not hard to stop this insanity its just hard to get the motivation going. But I do see forward movement with the 20 state lawsuit agains’t Obamacare and the 5 or so states passing their own laws that guns and ammo manufactured and sold in their states are not under the jurisdiction of the ATF. Arizona has passed their own immigration law. This is all good. We need to keep moving forward on states rights and state sovereignty. That is the answer to our problem.
