Now the left will redouble their efforts to do away with the electoral college.

You can't get rid of the electoral college without amending the Constitution. Good luck with getting three quarters of the states to agree. They have a scheme of states pledging their electoral votes according to the winner of the national popular vote, but it hasn't advanced that far yet, IIRC, less than a dozen states are amenable to that.

People are getting very selfish

Actually, the “national popular vote” crowd thinks they can make an end run on the constitution. Figures, eh? Leftists end running the Constitution, AGAIN.

This is largely based on the 14% west & south number. This is not a great thing.

Remember how Obama hired ACORN to make sure the census results were skewed? Well, I guess he wasn’t too successful.

It’s selfish to have too many kids! It’s selfish not to have enough! Egads, is there a right number, somewhere in the middle, that unselfish people have?

So now we know that there are 27 million more illegals than in 2000. What a country!

Yeah - didn’t some states recently pass legislation that they would give all of their Electoral votes to whomever wins the popular vote nation wide? Or did I read that wrong....

That’s going to go over really well with the local voters, if so.

Why is this so great? On the positive side, Texas, Georgia, South Carolina and Utah are pure red states, at least on the presidential level. But Louisiana is red and lost a seat. And Washington is deep blue.

Florida, Arizona, Nevada, Ohio, Iowa and Missouri are swing states and doesn’t it matter who exactly migrated there?

The only pure blue state losing out are New York, Illinois, Mass., Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvanis, although I must say that Pennsylvania had a red 2010.

It’s not selfish to have as many kids as you can support.

Only leftists say it’s selfish to have too many children. No one reasonable is saying that.

A few states are ignoring the electoral college now.

Yes, there is. 2.3 children is the "unselfish" number. No more, no less. Just stick with 2.3 children, and you'll be unselfish.

Sorry, neverdem - didn’t read closely enough. You addressed these guys.

I thought they were very close to getting their magic “270” last I heard.

They have a scheme of states pledging their electoral votes according to the winner of the national popular vote

If they ever pull that off, we can finally dispense with the obsolete notion that these are states (where the fedgov is the servant of the states) -- let's just acknowledge reality by calling them provinces (where the states are the servants of the fedgov).

We’re not replacing ourselves, thus the illegal immigration problem. I think the number is 3 kids per married couple to have replacement.
