FReeper PAC discussion thread
Free Republic ^ | 12/18/2010 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 12/19/2010 7:55:43 PM PST by BuckeyeTexan

Saturday night, December 18, 2010, Jim floated the idea of forming a political action committe to organize an effort to defeat the RINOs in the upcoming 2012 and 2014 Congressional elections.

"Yup, I do believe it’s time. We need to organize an anti-RINO PAC and get it going in all 57 states to support and elect True God and Country Conservatives™. We can do it!! FReeperPAC is born!"

472 posted on Saturday, December 18, 2010 6:46:47 PM by Jim Robinson (Rebellion is brewing!! Nuke the corrupt commie bastards to HELL!!)

Many FReepers expressed interest in helping with the PAC, posted research/resources, made relevant suggestions, offered advice, etc. It's time to move that effort to its own thread.

Please continue you contributons here. If you posted important information to the other thread, please consider re-posting it here. You will not automatically be added to the FReeper PAC ping list. You must request to be added if you want to receive pings to important updates.

Those were some great days and times for conservatives to come together and enjoy doing something important and worthwhile.. I don't know if you were a part of these rallies/protests this far back but you and some of the other old timers around here will appreciate these shots below anyway. I have many more.

Great pics and great memories!

I wasn't at the Galleria rally (I remember it, though), but I did participate in one downtown regarding that recount garbage.

And I remember FReeping A.N.S.W.E.R with you in early 2003. We messed up their whole "love-fest" just by being there. :)

Heh. All you have to do is get a bunch of folks willing to say, “My issue is SMALL! Please make ME one of the small ones you use to fill you box!” Good luck with that.
***They say it ALL THE TIME, when they say they would vote (begrudgingly) for such & such conservative candidate but prefer Rudy McRomney. Conservatives say it by going fishing on election day.

If I may shove my oar in -- I think Ron C. has an EXTREMELY important point in Post#251.

That is, in order to take back the party, a proven (and necessary) method is to flood the grass roots at the state level, since it is they who choose the party leadership.

In this conjunction, may I point everyone to a similar initiative under the auspices of RedState.com -- the The Committeman Project (and links therein). This aims to take over the chairmanships of local GOP precincts with conservatives, all over the country at the same time: thereby giving conservatives the chance to drive the agenda, rather than beg and plead to be listened to.

Please look at the links (I am not affiliated with the project, and neither I nor any friends or relatives has any monetary or "back-scratching" interest in it) and see if it could be dovetailed with the effort here.

(Remember Sun Tzu: the successful warrior defeats his enemy without even having to engage him in battle.)

We are in this to SAVE THE COUNTRY.

We are in this to WIN!

We couldn’t even get unification on the issue of destroying McCain’s political future in November 2010.

I’ve basically given up on the Republitards.

I found your comments to be exactly right on target.

Also, I wish you could have defeated Wilson again as he was running the show this time, too. Looked like he had his hands all over the Whitman fiasco and, of course, he and Arnie are best buds.

Sure wish Wilson would get the heck out of CA politics!

Just some random thoughts on how we might drag the party into the conservative realm:

If we really want mega-success, we should include some thoughts, ideas, on how to replace a lot of state Republican Party Chairs.

In Texas, we have term limits on that position so the Chair can only serve 2 terms (8 years). However, most states do not term limit that position and the result is Chairs that have the same person for 20 or 30 years, creating that ‘good old boy’ network which dominates making the national party rules and electing the national chair.

This is the reason it’s very hard to change the DC party culture and drag the party back to more conservative policies.

We need committees in every state to check out their state rules and how to move their state party to more conservative stances.

In Texas, the County Chairs have a lot of power, along with the Exec. Committee, and can somewhat influence the outcome of State Chair elections.

Each state committee would need to see where the power really is at their state level in order to influence the outcome for State chair and ultimately National chair, rules, and policies.

Corrections, ideas, and input welcome.

I forgot to mention the “Seniority” rules at the national level, which compounds the problem.

ROTFLOL

Ron, I had not seen your post when I had the same thoughts about getting involved at the state level.

See my post #287:

You are exactly right. I hope we can do both (target Senator RINOs and state party RINOs), but it may have to be one or the other. We’ll see.

Just saw your post (yeah, I’m slow but thorough, LOL).

Thanks for the links to RedState. I’ll check them out later.

I agree about getting involved locally and at the state level. See my post #287.

Headless Horsemen are hard for the MSM to pin down. But they scare the hell out of them. That is what I like about the Tea Party. They can not pick a target to isolate and demonize a la Alinski out of the background clutter. They keep trying to Isolate a “Leader” but can not.

Well, what I meant was screwy personal business that can be used as a club by our own side to beat these folks over the head, like poor Christine in Delaware had. Like you said, personality, passion, bravery, and DEFINITELY ruthlessness.

It’s time to get a ball buster.

DC Chapter Master Ping List

Not sure how many have seen this but sounds like a good idea. Especially since it is sanctioned by Jim Rob.

The RNC doesn’t seem to want to help the Tea Partiers so we will need to take matters into our own hands.

From BuckeyeTexan post, humblegunner is creating a list so I am sure he will be happy to add you to his list.

Humblegunner, please add Trooprally to your list. Thanks.

Absolutely correct! I am in the local Republican Club as well. We do our share of reeducation as some think that compromise is always appropriate. We have to explain that certain principles cannot be compromised away.

It's getting easier after McCain's huge loss. Its much easier to see what Rinoism will bring you in the end----defeat.
