Here are some photos of our yard after last night's storm. We got about a foot or so of snow. Perhaps 15 when it's all done. The winds up have gusts to and sometimes exceeding 50 miles an hour today. Post your photos and stories. Luckily no trees fell on wires or our house! And we didn't lose power.

You need to make a page!
It’ll be hard work, but, that’s ok.
They’ll be out, I’m sure my son-in-law will be here shortly with his machine. There are trails everywhere. Beyond our 4 car garage, at the back of our lot line, is a HUGE hill. It’s a ‘suicide’ hill. It’s perfect for tubing. All my kids (29, 28, 27, 24) and their husbands get together for sledding days. They build jumps and barrel down that hill. Little kids aren’t allowed to do it. They use the ‘baby hill’ most parents wouldn’t allow, to dangerous you know.....
Beyond the hill, the farmers next door do their truck mudding off-road thing. This area is really fun for all kinds of ‘red-neck’ fun stuff. Beats drinking white whine in DC.
LOL - here's a shot more appropriate to the thread, though it is from a snowstorm in March of 2008 when I still lived in Ohio. We totalled about 24 inches in 36 hours in that one. If you look closely, you can see the taillights of my car in the garage...
Although we had around 6-8 inches total here in southeastern Tennessee, I'm happy to be away from those big 12+ inch snowstorms that we got in Northern Ohio every year.
My daughter lives in Oak Grove, KY, a suburb of Clarksville, TN. She was visiting last winter, and I was going back with her. We brought a shovel (she doesn’t own one), there had been reports of a big snow storm in her area. It was less than 2 inches. Not worth shoveling.
We all LOL at people in the south when we hear 3 inches shut down the city. And that’s just it, having fun. But we also know, we have the equipment, and are ready every year. Down south, it doesn’t happen frequently, and it’s really not worth the expense to buy plows and equip trucks with salt and the whole nine yards. In a day or two, it’ll just melt. Nature is free, government is EXPENSIVE.
I see your lights. It had to be snowing really heavy. I’ve heard, cameras don’t capture the real extent of a storm.
Having had a Corgi in the past I remember how they liked the snow despite the ground clearance issues and how their trouser fur got matted up with ice.
Do you raise them?
Dagny is our second, Jake passed this year at 14 1/2. It sounds like Dagny will be getting a playmate next spring. (I may be the Captain but my wife is the Admiral) We are enamored with Corgis after the two that we have had.
If I ever consent to having a dog again, I would like to again have a PM Corgi. Their temperment and character is superior to any other breed I have ever spent time around.
I must add a word of caution to others reading this — they shed their fur. THEY REALLY REALLY REALLY SHED. LOTS. ALL YEAR. EVERYWHERE.
My sister finally came and got her 300lb English Mastiff I’d been ‘babysitting’ a few years. Add 1/2 lb slobber per day hurled over every surface on TOP of the non-stop shedding. Great dog, I miss him already.
I’ve ran, hunted, swam, everything with just about every breed except a Corgi and I’ve noticed a number of them catching my eye lately. The qualities that allure me are: independent, self-secure, noble, behaved, intelligent, assessing. Which ones am I missing? I’ve never had a small dog before but this is looking like the one.

Adorable! I see attributes of both fox and wolf, which resonate because my wolf was my favorite dog I ever had.
I really admire dogs that aren't extensions of their owners' personalities, but their own 'person' in their own right.
Beautiful!
She’s a real sweetheart...which just happens to destroy your theory about her not being an extension of her owners personalities. :{)
Dagny is a product of Encore Corgis, a nearby breeder for whom we have the utmost respect. She is actually a pupsickle. Her father’s seed was shipped from Ireland and inseminated. Craigycor Pembroke Corgis. The mother had a litter of 8, 3 of which were fluffys, probably to the breeders disappointment but our enchantment.
LOL! The Bears didn’t go to the game, either!
Yes, that was pretty sad alright. Tough to watch. Geez, what happened?
The Bears’ record is actually a gift: The Bears are mediocre, and the fact they’re 9-4 is not a good picture of what kind of team they really are. In all candor, they should be 6-7, or, at best, 7-6. They will go to the playoffs, but will get knocked out the first week.
In addition to traits you mention, Corgis bond to their Owners as attentive dogs without being too fearful of outsiders.
When you sit by the fire, they will too. When visitors come they may announce but rarely are they overly agressive. They may herd toddlers but not by nipping or other offensive conduct. They love to play fetch.
Those trees will survive. Thank you trees. We're not environs, we use what God gave us.
Isn't it amazing the difference between conservationists and environmentists?
I hate liberals.
