Having been a pot smoker in the past, I think I would prefer to stick with the illegal stuff. Who finds these drugs anyway? Do hippies go into the forests of Costa Rica with a bong and just pick, pack, and fire it up to see if it gets them high?
Do you happen to have any info on the smoking of Melissa (Lemon Balm)? We order Melissa Essential Oil which is "an investment," but works like a charm for vertigo and angst, etc., and we also have tons of Lemon Balm growing naturally (it's downright invasive almost) in our yard, and I thought we could put it to good use, as long as it wasn't detrimental in any way (other than the obvious smoke-in-the-lungs). I could only find one article online about it, and it mentioned it was legal to smoke, but that it would be harsh on the throat, and should be mixed.

U.S. Military Is Salvia legal in the U.S. Navy? Salvia divinorum is on the list of banned substances for the U.S. Navy, but is not tested for in drug tests

Is Salvia legal in the U.S. Marines? According to Marine Corps News, the use of Salvia divinorum for "intoxication, excitement, or stupefaction" is prohibited under the same rules as those for the U.S. Navy.

According to Army Times, an Air Force spokesperson stated that "the Air Force has no official policy on" Salvia divinorum. Officials at Hill and Malmstrom Air Force Bases have banned the use of Salvia divinorum.

Not meaning to be. I’m just very disappointed. She could’ve turned out SO much differently, but between the choices SHE made and the options shown to her, it’s looking more and more like she’s headed down Britney’s path.

Or worse...Lindsay Lohan’s.

Well I don’t know if she will or not but so far she still seems to have a good head on her shoulders. I can’t think of anythign she has done that’s really bad tho I know she has done a couple of things people have made a bigger deal out of than needed. I will wait and see if she turns out bad before I judge her, she hasn’t done anything yet to make me think she’s bad, whorish or anything else negative. She just seems to be a young girl learning the world.

California: Assembly Member Anthony Adams (R) introduced Assembly Bill 259 to the California State Legislature on February 5, 2007. On March 12, 2007, the bill was amended to include Salvinorin A. On March 27, 2007, it was defeated by committee vote, but a reconsideration was granted.

Assembly Bill 259

The bill was amended on January 7, 2008. Instead of placing Salvia divinorum in Schedule I, the amended version would make the sale or distribution of Salvia divinorum or Salvinorin A, or any substance or material containing Salvia divinorum or Salvinorin A, to any person under 18 years of age a misdemeanor, punishable by imprisonment in a county jail for not more than 6 months. The amended version passed unanimously in the Assembly on January 29, 2008. It passed in the Senate on July 2, 2008. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) signed the bill into law on July 22, 2008. It went into effect on January 1, 2009.[Cyrus lives in LA] Delaware: Senator Karen E. Peterson (D) introduced Senate Bill 259 to the Delaware State Legislature on March 16, 2006. This legislation makes Salvia divinorum a Schedule I controlled substance in Delaware. The bill passed the General Assembly and was signed into law by Governor Ruth Ann Minner (D) on May 2nd, 2006.

The text of the bill only mentions Salvia divinorum, and not Salvinorin A or any other specific chemical constituents of the plant. The law has been named "Brett's Law" in memory of Brett Chidester, a 17-year-old Salvia user who committed suicide on January 23, 2006, by intentionally poisoning himself with carbon monoxide

**“Do hippies go into the forests of Costa Rica with a bong and just pick, pack, and fire it up to see if it gets them high?”

yes**

In the Tampa area, some nights one can see the recreational pharmaceutical enthusiasts in the pastures, searching for a glowing mushroom that grows in cow fecal masses.

Yummers!

Wasn’t long ago when hippies went into the forest to catch frogs and lick then to get high.

Not proud about it, FRiend. Pot ruined my life for several years, and I am adamantly opposed its use now.

What I meant was that in a choice between the two, I would rather use the pot. Salvia has some side effects and anecdotal instances of severe physiological reactions that I would rather not play with.

Again, I don’t support the use of either.

I suffer from vertigo and my physician told me (off the record) that brewing lemon balm in tea would help with certain episodes. I’ve not used it myself, but I’ve heard the same that you have.

Check out Duffy the new Welsh singing sensation in the UK, Paris & showing up more and more in the US. Note she can sing, is popular and dresses “conservatively”????

If you can really sing; you don’t have to re-package yourself in the way of many troubled celebs. Celebs young are made into who they are by the Music Industry to be sold!

Duffy has a new album out via iTunes.

First heard her in a hip clothing store in a NE city, where they don’t do American pop, but more international pop.

Enjoy

This is actually a pretty big story. Miley Cyrus' use will bring this drug and others like it to the attention of high school kids and automatically create a market.

And the fact that ayahuasca is legal in UDV and Santo Dieme rituals makes the drug all the more attractive to some.

Funny thing about its availability too...it's produced (DMT, that is) by many, many plants. The acacia comes to mind...DMT was extracted from acacia roots and leaves by ancient Egyptians and even Sumerians. Even the MAOI's needed to prevent DMT from being metabolize too fast are an active ingredient in plants like Syrian rue and turmeric.

since she took off her shirt for the camera at 15, while her parents approved, I knew something was up. Her sister was modeling lingerie at 9. This family has just gone nuts.
