When Miley Cyrus says she “can’t be tamed” she means it! According to TMZ, new video shows the newly 18-year-old singer taking hits from a bong that sources say was filled with salvia.

Awareness of Salvia--another drug or "“psychotomimetic” promoted by a singer, songwriter- this time Miley Cyrus[if sources are correct]. Fans may want to emulate.

The main active ingredient in Salvia,is a potent activator of kappa opioid receptors in the brain.These receptors differ from those activated by the more commonly known opioids, such as heroin and morphine... ingested by chewing fresh leaves or by drinking their extracted juices.. can be smoked as a joint, consumed in water pipes [popular], or vaporized and inhaled. They include psychedelic-like changes in visual perception, mood and body sensations, emotional swings, feelings of detachment, and importantly, a highly modified perception of external reality and the self, leading to a decreased ability to interact with one's surroundings. This last effect has prompted concern about the dangers of driving under the influence of salvinorin.

In 2009, NIDA’s Monitoring the Future Survey of 8th, 10th, and 12th graders asked about salvia abuse for the first time—5.7 percent of high school seniors reported past year use (greater than the percent reporting ecstasy use).

Thanks to YouTube [and 5 minute use timeframe], many young people from ages 16 - 25 have jumped in the bandwagon to get high with salvia and post the video on YouTube. Just like the old YouTube trend, 2Girls1Cup, many older teens have started to become highly interested in this legal drug. Having been a pot smoker in the past, I think I would prefer to stick with the illegal stuff. Who finds these drugs anyway? Do hippies go into the forests of Costa Rica with a bong and just pick, pack, and fire it up to see if it gets them high?

Sounds like a variant of LSD. Same kind of effects. I know several people who drugged out on LSD back in the day, and they still have not fully recovered. Their lives were wrecked.

That was not the point of the posting of this story. It was just an awareness post/videos about Salvia, which some parents may not be aware of.

I don't really care personally that Miley allegedly partook of Salvia; but she is someone's daughter [not just a celebrity] that I am sure after the media story, would care..AND all parents today can remain "sleepless" worrying about their kids.

My (information) sources tell me K2 is a synthetic cannabanoid... i.e., pot-like.
