MINNEAPOLIS - Dozens of workers at Chipotle restaurants in the Twin Cities have been fired. An immigrant rights group said the employees lost their jobs after the feds starting searching for undocumented workers. There’s plenty of them that are illegal including Omar Jamal their spokesman who’s always on the news when they do something wrong (like the recent taxi driver accused rapist) proclaiming their innocence. They just don’t send them back because they do not have a functioning government but they are indeed in the country illegally.

ICE looking for 270 illegal Somalis who could be connected to Al-Shabaab

The federal government has charged Minnesota Somali activist Omar Jamal with violating immigration rules. The Homeland Security Agency has detained him in the Washington County jail. Jamal also faces criminal charges for the same allegations — that he lied to the government to get into the country.

If you hire someone you can't ask if they're legal. You must accept the documentation they produce that they are legal

I stand corrected, I had no idea this was the norm. Totally insane though.

Looks like Obama/Holder are following the old saying...
“When politicians feel the heat, they finally see the light”

But of course, this is most likely just “window dressing”.
These illegals will be back to working in the USA in no time flat.

Everyone has a right to work in the US

Especially 14 year olds and 80 year old pilots...and unlicensed doctors...

You mean the Omar Jamal that is at the UN? Your cite is from April, 2003.

“Of the 87 arrested in the St. Paul area, .........8 have been accepted by the associated U.S. Attorney’s Office for prosecution for illegally re-entering the United States after they had been previously deported — a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.”

Why only 8? If all of them had previously committed crimes and were, as they should have been, deported once they ‘paid their dues’, then they’ve all committed a felony by returning.

Most Somalis in the Twin Cities are not "illegal" but are legal refugees placed there by the State department.

Actually up to 80% of Somali refugees are fakes in that the family they are re-uniting with here are not genuine biological family. DNA tests show this. They bring in phony children and phony relatives who are not family

They should be stripped of any citizenship and be deported .....and deported back if not citizens

You did know, didn't you, that for a family to reunite they are required to show relationship through DNA tests? I know that for a fact with different Liberian refugee families that were trying to bring over their families. It was only after a successful DNA test that a woman I know was able to bring over her daughter. A guy I know was trying to bring over his family, had gotten approval for some of them, but decided, after hooking up with some Liberian woman here, to just leave them all (kids from two different women) behind over there. So now he's had a daughter with this woman (though I think the girl is WAY too smart to have the pair of them as parents and he hasn't bothered with a DNA test to make sure he actually IS the father). I give this woman a couple more years and another 10 or 20 pounds before he goes off and starts spawning his fourth set of abandoned children. I see that he has gone to the clinic and told them that he is the girl's father and that they had to change her name. Meanwhile, her name is still the same on her mother's Medicaid card. I think he's planning to claim her with one name on his income tax for EIC and, I guess, use the SS# issued in her legal name. Hmmm, maybe he won't be around long enough to dump the woman. Maybe they'll deport him back to the others in Africa.

The DNA policy must be highly variable when and where it is imposed. Please go to the link I posted or just google — Somalian DNA fraud -— and you will find out more

No, it may be that as this policy was enforced over the past few years, including those folks I know, there was so much fraud uncovered that they halted the program. What they should do is to DNA test all those who came together as one family to see if they're actually related. I know of a number who are not. They were paid by folks back home to take their kids here as their own children or nephews or nieces so they'd have a chance at a better life.

If the federal government were really interested in eliminating fraud, it would work with states to compare SS# of dependents of those filing for EIC against state records of dependents for Medicaid and food stamps. They would find many kids with one set of parents for EIC with another set of parents for food stamps and Medicaid. There's a big business in going to recent immigrants with big families and buying the SS# and names of kids in excess of the limit of 2 for EIC and then kicking back to them some of the EIC loot. I got some of those people really pissed off at me when I told the new refugees that they shouldn't do that and that those who asked them to were criminals and that they were risking losing their EIC for 10 years or even getting deported.

One woman had asked me to help her with her income tax return. It was simple enough that I did it in about 10 minutes. Then she said, "Oh, I want to put this name as a dependent for the EIC." I asked her if that child had lived with her for at least 50% of the year because if she had not she was committing fraud against the U.S. government. She said, "But then I won't get back as much money." I told her, "Hey, I pay many thousands of dollars in tax every year and I don't get back anything. You should get back only what you're legally entitled to." She didn't like that and told someone else not to have me help with her return because I would steal from her. Instead, she brought the woman to her tax preparer who charged her about $400 to file what amounted to a 1040EZ. She did this two years in a row. The woman didn't know she was being charged this because she only saw a check in the end and was illiterate and couldn't read the itemization. She had me deposit the check for her and it was then I told her how much her return was less the fee. What fee? she asked. I told her. She shrugged. It has been an un-frigging-believable experience.
