The DNA policy must be highly variable when and where it is imposed. Please go to the link I posted or just google — Somalian DNA fraud -— and you will find out more

No, it may be that as this policy was enforced over the past few years, including those folks I know, there was so much fraud uncovered that they halted the program. What they should do is to DNA test all those who came together as one family to see if they're actually related. I know of a number who are not. They were paid by folks back home to take their kids here as their own children or nephews or nieces so they'd have a chance at a better life.

If the federal government were really interested in eliminating fraud, it would work with states to compare SS# of dependents of those filing for EIC against state records of dependents for Medicaid and food stamps. They would find many kids with one set of parents for EIC with another set of parents for food stamps and Medicaid. There's a big business in going to recent immigrants with big families and buying the SS# and names of kids in excess of the limit of 2 for EIC and then kicking back to them some of the EIC loot. I got some of those people really pissed off at me when I told the new refugees that they shouldn't do that and that those who asked them to were criminals and that they were risking losing their EIC for 10 years or even getting deported.

One woman had asked me to help her with her income tax return. It was simple enough that I did it in about 10 minutes. Then she said, "Oh, I want to put this name as a dependent for the EIC." I asked her if that child had lived with her for at least 50% of the year because if she had not she was committing fraud against the U.S. government. She said, "But then I won't get back as much money." I told her, "Hey, I pay many thousands of dollars in tax every year and I don't get back anything. You should get back only what you're legally entitled to." She didn't like that and told someone else not to have me help with her return because I would steal from her. Instead, she brought the woman to her tax preparer who charged her about $400 to file what amounted to a 1040EZ. She did this two years in a row. The woman didn't know she was being charged this because she only saw a check in the end and was illiterate and couldn't read the itemization. She had me deposit the check for her and it was then I told her how much her return was less the fee. What fee? she asked. I told her. She shrugged. It has been an un-frigging-believable experience.

What can I say. You obviously know more about these situations than I do. Thanks much! :)
