MINNEAPOLIS - Dozens of workers at Chipotle restaurants in the Twin Cities have been fired. An immigrant rights group said the employees lost their jobs after the feds starting searching for undocumented workers. Brad Sigal with the Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee said around 50 workers lost their jobs after so-called “desktop raids” at several Chipotle restaurants in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro.

I heard Brad on the radio saying everyone has a right to work in the US.

Brad, you're a moron.

Every LEGAL CITIZEN has a right to work in the USA (or those with special permission from the govt. ie green cards). Sorry, Brad, you lose on this one!

I love Chipotle’s food, but it seems every time we go in the prices have jumped dramatically—little container of guacamole used to cost .50 cents, then .75, then a dollar, now it’s up to $2.25 here! Crazy. The kids love to get cheese quesadillas, used to cost a dollar for a large one, now it’s over three dollars! I love fresh food, but we can’t eat there more than once a month at those prices!

Good I’m glad to hear it they are economic terrorists anyway cost us more in benefits then they contribute to the bottom line.

Now if the Twin Cities could just find a way to get rid of all the illegal aliens from Somalia, etc. it might once again become a decent place. but I won’t hold my breath I’m surprised it even happened it’s like CA. North with Sanctuary Mayor’s.

Just think..some legal US residents, long unemployed, will get Christmas gifts of a job this Christmas. Makes for a happy ending to this story.
Our nephew landed a chef’s job last week after more than a year of on and off employment. No doubt his competition would be illegal aliens if his employer were so inclined.

Doing the jobs that Americans wont do...

...except that my 17 year old son can’t find a job as much as he tries - and would love to take a job like this (just like his dad did when he was a kid).

I doubt they’re going anywhere. From what I’ve seen recently I suspect the INS works with the SEIU to make sure these people get right back to work.

Just a year ago it was 1200 minneapolis janitors who lost their jobs in the same way and most of them are on the job today with the help of the SEIU.

“Dozens of workers at Chipotle restaurants in the Twin Cities have been fired”
______________________________________________________________________________

Great news. Should happen all over the US. Chipotle management should be prosecuted using the Federal Anti
Racketeering RICO laws and have their ASSets confiscated, just like drug traffickers do.

These criminal employers have gotten away with it for too long. It MUST stop. Restaurant industry is the worst
offender. Dry up the jobs and say buh bye to the illegals.

“Chipotle is fully cooperating with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials in connection with a document request they have made.”

Well bully for Chipolte. They should have made sure they were legal to begin with.

Now hire some American teenagers, Chipolte!

You pays yo’ money, you takes yo’ chances. If they’re not here legally, they should be fired and detained. What’s the problem?

Most Somalis in the Twin Cities are not "illegal" but are legal refugees placed there by the State department.

I like Chipotle’s burritos. Sad to hear that they were hiring illegals. Guess I will have to get my fix someplace else now.

Well bully for Chipolte. They should have made sure they were legal to begin with.

Under the labor laws they can't do that. They had to get the government to ok firing them.

If you hire someone you can't ask if they're legal. You must accept the documentation they produce that they are legal. If you suspect the documentation is phony you have to send the document to the government to check out. Obviously Chipotle has been doing this, that's why the the government looked at a all these people and gave Chipotle permission to fire them. Chipotle has been acting properly under the law.

The reason for the situation in the above paragraph is anti-discrimination laws. Wouldn't want Chipotle discriminating against anyone, you know.
