WASHINGTON (AP) — Elizabeth Edwards is gravely ill and doctors have told her she only has weeks to live, according to a family friend who is among those who have gathered with Edwards at her North Carolina home.
The family issued a statement Monday that said doctors have told her that further treatment for her cancer would be unproductive, and the family friend further described Edwards' condition to The Associated Press.

This really is sad news. Hubby said Edwards basically killed her, which is not true of course, but I’m sure his despicable behaviour didn’t help.
She was indeed a rapid left wing moonbat. She was responsible for hiring the excreble Amanda Marcotte as the chief blogger for the Slip-n-Fall lawyer’s campaign.
“I’m a cancer survivor, at least for today. I wish her the very best. If this is the end, I hope that she goes with dignity.”
I, too, am a cancer survivor; and I, too, at least for today. I have utter contempt for John Edwards, but he dealt his wife and family a real dirty blow, and for his wife to suffer the tragedy of terminal cancer on top of it all...well, all I can say is: God be with you, Elizabeth, and may He bring confort and solace to your children in this difficult time.
She was a co-conspirator with him! I am sorry she’s dying of cancer.....I have had two cancers, and it’s no fun.....but she was strongly behind him when he ran for President KNOWING that he wasa CHEATER!

Very sad to hear this.
Were I she, it would tick me off mightily that John-boy, that waste of skin, would be outliving me, the pile of poop. May he get as he has given.

As a care-giver to long-term sufferers, I fail to see the blessings. Chemo, radiation, surgeries, severe pain, narcotics, families in crisis, bureaucratic red tape ... I see no gift in all this.
It’s a travesty that cancer patients are not told their true diagnosis, given false hope, and subsequently dragged through endless (unnecessary?) painful treatments ... which ultimately benefit the cancer center. Meanwhile, the shell-shocked caregivers, are kept in the dark and hit up for contributions to their “esteemed” cancer centers. It’s a friggin’ scam.
