ORLANDO, Fla. -LPGA players have voted to allow transgender players to compete on tour in response to a lawsuit filed by a California woman who had her sex changed five years ago.
The players voted to remove the "female at birth" requirement from the tour's constitution at a year-end meeting at the LPGA Tour Championship, commissioner Michael Whan said. He said steps will be taken in the coming weeks to make the change.
Lana Lawless, a former police officer who had the sex change operation, filed the federal lawsuit in San Francisco in October claiming the "female at birth" requirement violated California's civil rights law. The 57-year-old Lawless wanted to prevent the LPGA from conducting tournaments in the state until it changed its policy and was seeking unspecified damages.
Lawless also sued three tour sponsors and the Long Drivers of America, which followed the LPGA policy. Lawless won the annual women's long-drive golf championship in 2008 with a 254-yard drive, but was barred from competing this year after organizers adopted the LPGA's gender rules.
"I think it is a major civil rights victory," Christopher Dolan, an attorney for Lawless, told The Associated Press in a phone interview Wednesday. "We are pleased that the LPGA has voted to end this archaic and outdated policy."
Dolan cautioned that the final changes are not expected for a couple weeks. But he was optimistic the LPGA's amended policy would allow complete access for transgenders.

This is ridiculous. Even if he had his junk cut off he still has the physiology of a man. “She” ought to compete on the male circuit.
This football fan nearly spit his coffee all over his computer screen when he read that. ROFL!!
As Artie once said to Garry Shandling;
“I thought I killed him in the Korean war.”
“He” CAN’T!
Okay.
Men without penises are allowed to enter LPGA tournaments.
Isn’t it, then, a violation of the civil rights of men WITH penises to BAR them from LPGA competition?
Genetic mutations aside,
XX = Female
XY = Male
...and until someone develops a procedure to change a person’s ‘Y’ to an ‘X’, or vice-versa, then there is no such thing as a ‘sex change’.
Can’t wait to hear the announcers talk about “missed puhtz”.
This “woman” has a male skeleton and male muscular development.

Self mutilators rejoice ... there may be a lucrative career in sports waiting for you. What about cross dressers? I’d pay 30 bucks to see Phil in a dress.
That looks a little bit like my Uncle Stanley - if he put on hoop ear-rings and a blond wig. (Uncle Stanley is bald).
ME!!
...only more muscular...
“There goes any chance for naturally-born females to complete.”
I do not see many sex changed males being able to compete. It will only take one or two however, to ruin the sport. Viewers will reject women’s golf if even one or two sex changed males can compete well. Women’s sports popularity is rather sensitive to appearance. Women’s golf has suffered because many top golfers do not look attractive. The public will flee from women’s golf if sex changed males are prominent.
I see a grave danger for women’s tennis. Women’s tennis is perhaps the most popular spectator sport for women. I can envision sex changed males overwhelming women competitors. There is a large gap between professional men and women on the respective tours. Serena Williams used to brag that she could compete on the men’s tour. She played an exhibition against male ranked outside of the top 200. He was also one of the few smokers with an ATP ranking. She was thoroughly trounced.
I am not criticizing women tennis players in comparison to men. Physical differences in men and women account for the difference in ability at the top. Top women players are fantastic athletes.

“She’s been missing her puhtz all afternoon, Roger.”

Exactly. WBA games look like JUST like the NBA games ... just in slow motion.
Fixed it.
Would Lazamataz?

Yes, and you’d think all these self proclaimed “respectors of science” would realize that.
but, what can we expect, they don’t know a human embryo is human.
They think some people are not actually “black” or “women” due to their points of view.
They are all imbeciles and I don’t understand how our society gives them so much power over the rest of us.
